I UTFSE and found a year old post on this but wanted to open this up.
La Fenix is now in a soft-opening on Suk 11, across from Q Bar right on the corner. It is an 8 story, 147 room hotel run by Accor.
If you walk by, you will see a white building with a lot of glass that will look into the lower lobby, and bar on 2nd floor. Rooms are 24 SM., small but nice, modern style and seem quite comfortable. Rooms have either 2 single beds or 1 king, LCD TV, electronic safe box, etc., etc. There is a small pool that looks out onto the top part of 11 and a fitness centre will be running in a couple weeks. The pool is not really for lap swimming but will do in a pinch.
The ladies at the front informed me theack rates are 2500 baht. This is lower than what is published on the website. Soft-opening specials are 1900 from the Accor website.

Only 4 floors are open at the moment. I think they said the Grand Opening will be in a month or two.
The woman I spoke to said they are GF friendly however we did not discuss joiner fee. I would assume you book a double and all is fine.

Alternatively use you Accor "advantage card" and get the room for 1453 BHT.
But I doubt the value compares to the 5 star Grand Sukumvit by Sofitel available at 2210 BHT.

All Accor hotels in Thailand must fall in line with their Asian Accor group policy.
That is all are not guest friendly. Joiners are charged even if you book a twin/double.Eg, Novotel, Ibis and Mercure. Those which used to be guest friendly are now not, Damn shame if you ask me.

Shame, cos the hotel seems very nice.
However, the Dynasty Grande at 1800 a night ( negotiated with their GM) seems like ample compensation. Thanks anyway fella!

OVERNIGHT GUEST:
The hotel does not allow an unregistered overnight guest to stay overnight for security reasons. Should you really need to invite someone to stay overnight, please go through the registration steps that the hotel provided. Hotel will impose an Overnight Guest fee at 600 Baht net per person and charge to your hotel account, even though you have already reserved and paid for a twin or double room. The invited guests must leave hotel premises before 9 a.m. and having a limited right to use hotel facilities.
WIFI INTERNET INSTRUCTIONS
This service is only available to those with their own wireless connection equipment. The hotel does not have equipment for hire.
The hotel has several access points set up for this service, so access is available throughout the building and in all guest rooms.
The system supports roaming use, which allows guests to access the Internet while moving around the building.
Payment must be made in advance. For those staying several nights, please pay all charges in advance. Once payment is made you will be given an instruction manual & access card.
Connection to the Internet requires changing the settings on your computer. We will provide a manual, but cannot offer additional support. It is the guest's responsibility to ensure the correct settings are made to the computer. There are also some mail accounts that are not supported by our optical fiber server. Please refer to an instruction manual.
