Checked out of Le Fenix today after a week and moved over to Westin for next week.
What I liked about Le Fenix:
Price. Got it for 1900 per night including taxes, etc. Could have gotten it even cheaper if I had pre-paid.
Furniture in room was like new.
Outside elevator bypasses lobby.
Always seemed to get a smile of approval from door guards when arriving with the TG.
No surcharge was added for the TG overnights as stated in hotel guide in room.
What I didn't like:
Pool is indoor (open air though) and not much bigger than a large bathtub.
Platform bed a bit hard.
Construction noise from the street work in front.
Taxi and pedestrian access limited during street construction.
5 taxis refused to take my TG home - I could deal with this from hailing a cab on the street, but in front of the hotel? If I recall correctly, she lives somewhere up around Sutthisan.
There was also noise from the tile deep cleaning going on on the second floor - but this might address my original issue about some mildew in the bathroom tile.
No noise from QBar across the street... of course I rarely made it back before it closed anyway.
Will I stay there again? If I am looking for an inexpensive hotel and the construction is finished; yes.

Now staying in Le Fenix. Did not have any thing to complain about. Well, one cannot take the lift beyond the 3rd floor unless the room door card was available. So if the girl is arriving alone she has to call so one has to go down and bring her back from level ONE. Bit of a hassle but from security point seems ok.I had booked double but was told that the 2nd ABF would be allowed once I registered the other guest.
Few things need addition-- No Soap plate in the bath room. No waste paper bin in room. Could not locate the bottle opener.
I bit of walk from Sukumbit. The distance could be as much has Town Lodge is from Main Sukumvit
Otherwise a comfortable hotel IMO. Will stay again

But it is very conveniently located. You have many restaurants to choose from, a couple of clubs like Q Bar, Bed Supperclub, Genesis, and many more along Soi 11. There's also a 7-11 a few metres away, and if you are so inclined, there's The Ritz.

Absolutely right, end of Soi 11 is more Times Square than cul de sac...
Good off-Suk. Motocy connection to all odd Sois from Soi 1 up to Asoke, love it... Frazer's Suites round the corner opening soon...

My friend walked in and paid 3000 baht a night. Wish I could have found this thread for him earlier. Room was OK by my standards. Very small, about half the size of my studio here at Fraser Suites. I will book another room for a friend there this week and see how it is. For a new hotel, the room just didn't have that new look.

Stayed here a couple nights in Dec. Definitely girl friendly. Lift avoids the lobby. At least a kilo from Suk. Room was fine though the white on white gets old and they cover up the largest window. Nice enough bath and flat screen. Painted cinder block construction, so door slams can be loud. Gym's above average, but the pool's minuscule. All in all I liked it. I payed around 1650. If it gets up around 2000, there are better options. ps: watch out for the corners of the bed frames. I damn near tore my shin off. wj
