I have a few days in BKK by myswelf before wife arrives. Meeting sone friends there who arrive at hotel a few days after me. Wife and I then staying in different place - But I was wondering about ythe hotels in how discreet they are? Also anyb prob bringing 2/3 girls back to the meridian persident?

Thanks Skip and SO5. I might need to clarify, I am there for a few nights, and when the wife comes we are checking into another place - She wont be calling to the Meridian at all - does your advice still hold?

O.k Kev if you are checking into another hotel when your wife arrives,book a double at the Meridian as
it mite get you out of paying the Joiners fee.
As to the mp`s check out in field reports of the others
that will help you make up your mind on which one is for you.
You could try Barons,Annies,good value or for something different the Eden Club.

I stayed there last year (May) and had no problems whatsover there. Sort of intimidating when you walk in because there is a desk with some security guys sitting there glaring at you but after throwing a few tips their way for various services (opening doors, calling taxis, etc) they loosened up. In fact, I would stop and shoot the breeze with them on many occasions and they would give me the knowing nod when I had a TG with me. Reception desk is on the right, you can cut through the lobby to the left and have no problems. There is a security guard at the elevator but he is very harmless (when he isnt sleeping).
When I was there, none of the girls I was with had to leave their ID card. One of the security guys told me that as long as the girl doesn't look under 18, there should be no problem.
