Yes Rivas is still a place to pick up boring/average looking FL's who think they are worth a whole lot more then they are worth. If you are staying at the Sheraton and absolutly too lazy to get out the door, you might find yourself a $100 ST girl there who is keen on old lazy business guys.

Went to Spasso on Friday night for the first time: Typical 5-sta hotel bar: dreadful band playing god-awful covers, over-priced drinks, better-dressed yet worn-out hookers. At 28 I was probably the youngest person (i.e. male and female) in the room. The place started filling up at around midnight. I think when you go in before 10PM there is no cover charge, after that its 690 (!) baht. I stayed there from 21.30 till 1AM and I saw maybe 3 girls (euh…women) that would be worthy of the ClitCommanders company. I am know to be picky, but 3 for f*** sake. This is Bangkok afterall..
One of those 3 I saw 30 minutes later at good old CM2 and she was indeed honored and pleasured soon afterwards.

How can you respect yourself as a musician when you play the same crappy covers, night after night, week after week? For me, all you are is another whore in the capitalistic gang bang. Every note of every one of you monstrous covers is like a turd in my drink and even if you live a 100 lives, you are of the artistic roll call forever.
*rant mode off*
On a more positive note, aside from the Galleface Hotel in Sri Lanka, the Grand Hyatt in Bangkok must have to most impressive lobby I have seen in recent memory.

Do socialist musicians play a wider variety of songs? I never knew that.
Actually, since socialists usually get paid the same (or have a guaranteed job by the state/union) regardless of how well they perform, I don’t think that is true.

In a capitalist system, the person who hired the band can fire them if they don't like the performance. So maybe the manager of the club likes the songs they play.
People in socialist societies care more about money than in capitalist societies. That is why they created socialism, to take money away from those who have it and then give it to themselves.
