There is no cover charge for this place. You can get your own drinks and enjoy the view. Of course, it gets better when you buy the girls drinks. I don't know if this has change, but last few times I barfined the girls it was 2,000 B and they do expect a tip in addition to that (ST or LT). I have not seen any freelancers working there, most of the girls that I noticed there are in the Vietnamese outfit. Hope that helps.

Barfines are based upon number of drinks. On Sunday, Monday, Tuesday - it is 6 drinks - 1200 baht. On Wednesday and Thursday, it is 8 drinks - 1600 baht. On Friday and Saturday, it is 10 drinks - 2000 baht. But many customers just wait till closing. There is no policy to prevent girls from just leaving with a customer at closing.

Big Boy Band is now playing the first set on Wed / Thurs nights before Unicorn. Its a great combo and a really good reason to show up early.

Stopped in Friday night (or maybe it was Thurs). It seemed to be some kind of special night as the hostesses were all wearing gowns and having their photos taken. Some of them looked really good.
The warm-up band was extremely loud. It took a couple of days for my hearing to get back to normal. A filipina vocalist and a Thai girl singer. The filipina was OK. To me almost all filipino singers sound like they are doing Karaoke - just singing without any individual expression. But I was impressed by the Thai singer, especially when she belted out a couple of Latin songs. And by the way she moved when performing a Shakira song, I think she must have some Latin blood mixed in. Unfortunately I found a lot of their song selections lacking. The gay anthem "I Will Survive" was painful to get through.
On the other hand, the Unicorn Girls sounded better than ever. Unlike sometimes in years past, both vocalists held their own and complemented each other well.
I sat at the bar near the stage and next to me was a group of about 8 girls. One of them bought all the drinks, and one time when she opened her wallet... I swear she had a hundred or so 1000 baht notes in it. I passed her handbag over to her from its resting spot behind the bar and from its weight I think there must have been gold bars in it as well.
