so there I went last night. first of all had to queue up, they did not have me on the VIP list as promised. I don't like that. 300 baht entrance.
inside it was busy, guess everybody (except me!!) came for the free drinks.
the place is just a square block (guess for better sound experience) with a giant disco ball. the DJ's are in front, there is a little dance floor and the bar is on the left side.
and DJ's they had!! there were about 25 people up that booth and everybody tried to look cool and important. I expected more from them. first it was hip hop and after that it was plain commercial. and I wanted to shoot that overweight bearded MC motherf***er. this is how you build an aggressive aura.
after half my beer my ears started to hurt. and I left the new club.
plenty of eyecandy there, one, yeah just one coyote cancer. will I go again?? sure, every bar deserves a second chance. but then the music better be better and not too loud.
the diner V8 in front of insomnia looks promising. must pop in for a burger soonley.

Agree with RTB.
Kinda plain inside, which reminded me of 808.
Too Loud, and shit music when I was in there. Not Hip Hop, not house...just noise.
The bar looked pretty boring, and reminded me of some unimaginative bars I use to see in the USA. I was almost ready for them to give me a drink in a plastic red cup.
Crowd reminded me of the Tunnel.

Was there the opening night also, fortunately was on the VIP list so no queue, first couple of rounds free, then they opened up the cash registered.
It's new, decent size, decent lighting, & not sure if that 300 baht entitles you to a free drink and what the prices are like but there are options and unless they come up with something different to draw crowds, this will be just another night club, a crowd on weekends and empty of weekdays.
I doubt the likes of Climax, and Bossy have too much to worry about in the long run.

I was there the other night and didn't like it. First of all, the club is like a warehouse, similar to Spicy. The tables are spread around and a bit too far from each other, which makes it seem a bit to impersonal with groups standing around instead of mingling around.
Beers are 140 baht so not too expensive.
Music is electronic 'dance' and what passes for 'house'. It's also loud. Generally the music and loudness really doesn't make for good partying imo - antisocial music.
The clientelle were purely there on business for the most part and not making any effort to hide it. Again, the cold feeling of the club continues with the attitude of guests. There were also a few too many drunk out of their mind farangs in wifebeaters, the kind of people you'd find dancing with a ladyboy in Spicy (not that there's anything wrong with that!).
The club has made some effort, but the music and all the tourists wheeled in from taxi commissions imo, creates a bad atmosphere. You can certainly pick up there, but you can do that anywhere. I'd stick with Climax or Liquid but haven't been there yet so can't comment.

Visited both Insomnia and Climax on consecutive night a couple of weeks back over a weekend.
Still a new place but a saturday night and Insomia was not even half full, although it feels like its twice the size of Climax. With a members card (about 100 baht) you get a furthe 10% of drinks so they work out to be about 125 - 130 baht which is very good.
Climax on the other hand, on a sunday night was packed to the rafters.
No comparison to where a single guy should go for full blow fun.

I've been to insomnia a few times with some regular girls. Arrived at midnight, and it is just scattered single girls or some pairs of girls.
its pretty obvious these girls are working, in fact the girls I was with commented that they didnt expect so many whores to be there.
The staff knew all of them and were talking to them alot, so it is obvious they are regulars.
by 1am it gets a bit more crowded, still mostly girls looking for a paycheck. so that is a good time to go, as it is not too crowded to not be able to see which girl you want to put on the nightly payroll.
by 2am it gets more crowded, more guys with a girl in tow, or groups of single guys....

Dropped into the clubs in September
Insomnia at 12, very thin on people, not interesting at all.
Liquid at Nana Hotel 1am. Also very few people.
Climax on Soi 11 had the best crowd. Took an FL home for the night, 1500B.
