Probably because it's how his parents have raised him, and because he's hoping to get a raise out of others by doing it. Just ignore him -- my general point of view is that people who refer to women as 'whores' really only portray themselves in that same light, and it tells you a lot about their own relationship with their mother.

I heard about this place from someone, and went to check it out many years ago, there were very few girls at that time. It looked a bit like Siam Hotel, where the girls hang out at the coffee shop. My guess, is the clientele are mainly Thai. Anyway, with so many options around, there just wasn't enough reason to get back there.

If we are following the theme of this thread, and not confining it to coffee shops or carparks, then here is the list of hotels where you can find Freelancers.
1) Grace Hotel (entrance, lobby area, Dino, coffee shop)
2) Nana Hotel (carpark, coffee shop, Angels)
3) Novotel Siam Square (CM2)
4) Grand Hyatt Erawan (Spasso)
5) Conrad (87 Plus, Diplomat's Bar)
6) Ruam Chitt Hotel (basement, Thermae)
7) Ambassador Hotel (basement, Spice Club)
8) Rex (coffee shop)
Quite a while ago a taxi driver told me about a place called 13 coins (sip sahm rian), and I later found out it was a chain of hotels, so I wasn't sure which one in particular he was referring to. It sounds very much like Siam Hotel's style.

I suggest you spend a while in Bangkok and hold some auditions for your traveling companion, like a casting couch, and pick one you click best with. Being in too much of a hurry could cause some problems for you. I once took a Nana bar girl up to Chaing Mai for 4-5 days, it had it's advantages and disadvantages. The story here:

The hottest freelancer place now is Spicy Club (Patumwan) thanks to it's opening times.
One girl told me they have free shuttles for girls after they are fed up about the Nana parking lot.
The Rex hotel (like the Malaysia, Siam, and Grace) is one of the oldest freelancer institutions.
I used to visit that coffee shop 20 years ago. There wasn't much action at that time.
13 Coins operates mainly steak restaurants throughout Bangkok and, as said they have a couple of hotels (at least one I know of).
We visited that place (near Ratchada) with a couple of girls of Baccara. They told us that many girls (mainly Thai scene) take their karaoke customers there and punters can hire rooms there.

Sounds like Spice club is the best place to visit. When would be the best time to do so? Around mid night? Any suggestios for the tip per day? I don't want to spoil the girls too much.

Unfortunate, I won't stay too long in BKK. For that reason, I may have to look else where besides Poseidon. I had pretty good luck with girls at Poseidon and Champs (in the old days) in my last few trips to BKK. I wonder if things have changed, so I need a back up plan just in case.

The hutsman pub in the basement of the Landmark hotel is also a frequent place for freelancers.
Picked up several girls there when I stayed at the hotel and except for one always had a good time.
And off-course also for good music.

I'm sorry about that. I used it as whore is quicker to spell that prostitute and I was under the impression that they had the same meaning. My lack of experience in Thailand and my poor upbringing had nothing to do with the use of the word, just expediency.
