i wouldn't try the camera phone, heard a few nasty storys what happend to them after they found out they did take a picture in the go go bar.
if you still going to do it then make sure it's very discreet the Thais can turn very nasty.

All bars won't allow you to shoot the girls dancing on the stage.
You can always take pictures of them outside the bars.

we did take picture in a go go even some movie shot in carnival and both mamasan and papasan did see we did it and say nothing to it
just sit and film when some of you friends ride the bull

A definite no-no. I don't often carry a camera, but the only times I've taken pictures was when we were having a little party and the photos were of consenting individuals. Better yet if you have a bargirl use the camera, so the girls on stage don't freak out.
Walking into a go-go bar where you are unknown and taking pics of the girls on stage is a recipe for getting your camera either confiscated or smashed. Keep in mind that many of the patrons are more sensitive about this than the naked dancers themselves.

It's really not that hard. No flash, and a high iso work.
As long as they know you're not going to post them all over the internet, quite a few like their picture taken, but ask first.

Guya please dont get me wrong,only reason I asked is
a) I have seen pics on the net yes I admit which were obviously taken in bars and the girls staring into the camera and smiling etc....
b) last time I managed to get my ass there (which was my first too) was back in 99 so who knows when next I can enjoy this privelege,and obviously would love some serious holiday pics which includes the bars
And if you look at all my previouas posts,even tho a newbie I very much doubt I come across as a jackass whos even intending of splashing them on the web.
Just a heads up to show I am actually only after holiday memories thats all.
