well, they wanted to screw him (bill heineke) but he turned the spear around, opened pizza company next to each pizza hut, took away his key personell, even offered every pizzabaker and delivery boy a job at the new company.

guess who is making a bigger turnover now??

RTB proves my point about employee loyalty here. You would be wise to not underestimate it.

Hmmmmm.... I think it was a little more complicated than that.

Bill Heineke had opened up a chain of chicken restaurants (called something like Chicken Treat) which was a breach of his franchise agreement with Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut might also have been screwed by 'Bill' as he supplied all the cheese through Minor Dairies at a not all too competitive price.

So I am not too sure who was screwing who? Although, as its Thailand, they were probably screwing each other.

I suspect that neither operation is making money... Personally I like my take away pizzas from Limoncello.

Cafe, where is he buying this business through, a business broker here or what ??

I was going to post this some time ago, so I guess this thread might be a worthwhile place to put it.

Do people think that the ridiculously high prices being asked for by businesses through a certain farang run operation are increasing the overall expectations of what a business can sell for here. Prices for sale are fcuking crazy and the owners of this brokerage have no inclination to reduce it, simply because they get commissions and god knows what else on the amount it sells for, even their real estate prices that they offer are sky fcuking high. Does this kind of thoughtlessness on their part have an overall effect on all businesses because some stooopid fcuk pays for some of these businesses because they have no better idea than some expert tells them so, so it must be true.
An example recently was a business for sale for around 120,000,000b, including land and buildings, a few weeks later it was offered at the ever so drastically reduced fire sale price of 75,000,000b, now tell me that if you can afford to reduce a price by that much, surely wasit not absurdely overpriced to start with. I have seen this scenario repeatedly monthly with all types and all various price ranges of business for sale.
It dumfounds me that people can think that a business like he is selling can be worth so much, after all we are talking Thailand, a third world country and not New York. I also heard of a guy paying 160,000b for a compant setup, while I was quoted myself recently from someone else 50,000b for the same, seems a tad of a difference.

me thinks this organisation is a joke. surely legal but they certainly try to dupe people who have fallen for the sights and sounds of thailand.

"well run, profitable internet shop in the heart of sukhumvit" for a couple of 100'000 baht.

turned out to be a 15 sqm 56k shop at the woraburi inn on soi 4. prior to that I hardly ever saw any customer in there...

I mean, all these profitable businesses on their site?? why sell it for prices, sometimes cheaper than the assets?? "relocation, cannot take care of it due to other businesses and so on", really??

I doubt it.

NM I agree with you on business sales as well as real estate. As one businessman has told me many Thai's think of businesses as the lotto and seeing a foreigner come to the table they see their winning lottery ticket.

I have examined buying versus leasing a building and the ROI of buying based upon prices quoted is 50 years.

Now the difference in formation of 50K to 160K could be attribute to differences in legal caliper. I say this looking a stack of over 100 pages of docs to renew a VISA and WP none of which I had to prepare, only sign. Sometimes you get what you pay for and have to weight the added cost of your time versus how much work you want to do yourself. Me none, so I pay more to others.

Well, the 160k was from a business broker to form a 2 mill baht company, not for me, for someone else. The 50k was from a lawyer to do the same but for me, possibly, I dont want to be official yet, fcuk it, ever. All only signing the sh_t, same as you, but different from you because it will not be you, but similar, similar in the way that it will be the same stuff signed but by a different person making it the same same but different.

As usual, this forum doesn't disappoint! Thank you guys. You guys have posted tons of pertinent info.

I'll just point him to this forum. It'd be better if he put the money in stocks and bonds.

Oh, ya, no, he didn't use Sun-belt Asia. He got it through a lawyer friend. Who I am sure will be more than happy to collect a sweet commission from the seller.

But, then again, sometimes people who want to be stupid, shouldn't be helped. Me thinks, let him make the mistake and learn a hard lesson. But then again...
