I have not visited this thread for a while, so a late reply here. This is very true and I had a scare myself like this. It's worse if your blood sugar is not under control and as a result there is a lot sugar in your urine. Bacteria thrives on the sugar and nasty rashes can occur even with good hygene.
If you have been involved in a "risky" activity do get it checked but don't panic either.
