Seriously, while his (and his friend's) actions aren't really condonable, he is correct that, unless there is open internal fluid exchange between the two bodies, the contraction of HIV is rare -- i.e. the risk is minimized, though not absent.
Just a broken condom is highly unlikely to be a death sentence.

I am in two frames of mind here.

Each village has a story the polite defination is ""gotten sick"" for a HIV sufferer.

agree with you 100 % - but I do also wonder just how many cases stated as HIV in Thailand, especially the Northern areas, are 100% that. It is common knowledge that Malnutrition and Hepatatis are both killers and also widespread in the North - and although I dont know now, certainly the tests the did some years back, came up positive to HIV, if you had either of the other above mentioned diseases. one reason being that overseas aid increased dramatically with higher numbers... and I'm sure a reason why the odd person was known to recover -
I would also think a fair % of Farangs genuinely HIV, would also be intravenous drug users... I know the two TGs I knew personally who died from HIV [ out of the 1000's I must have met over the years] both had Thai Boyfriends who were in that category.
Again understand and agree with your points, but allowing for their low immune systems, the fact they drink,smoke,and do short times all day long - it does amaze me how some of the hard core streetwalkers around Sukhumvit are seen year, after year, after year

Many (husbands) had worked in Burma, or Cambodia in contracts for companies (truck drivers) etc.
But many were infected in places like Pattaya.
It is said Indian men are the largest HIV carriers entering Thailand, but this cant be supported with Figures.
The woman working however did state that they thought their HIV was caught in bareback paid sex with often Pakistani, SRI Lankian, Or Indian men.
Western men do have a low infection rate caught in Thailand. (but many dont state where they were)
The simple fact is a woman diagnosed with HIV, (after initial shock) sometimes blames Farangs.
Many attempt a get "'even "" plan.
It is common knowledge some work independantly f***ing men along Pattaya beach.
They might show signs of infection by offering bareback sex, spitting on the penis in oral sex, getting on top at abrassive angles in attempt to break condoms.
This is rare, most will stay simply silent.
Look for woman whose shoulders are pretruding upwards.
Whose hair appears dry or skin.
Thinness of the Jaw.
There are estimated to be 100 working in Pattaya who havent stopped even HIV infected from working yet.
A guy hear named a girl from a bar who was discovered HIV, only to be doubted.
Sources confirmed his story and the girl was working on the beach road as a freelancer.
So Be careful, it is a real threat.

The women of LOS seem to eat very healthy diets rich in veggies, fish. This may be one reason so few have HIV. I haven't seen any IV drug users or track marks on there arms.
The above is pure speculation on my part.
One thing I do check their eyes for a yellow tint. Good indicator of hepatitis infection.

You can not check HIV or other sickness in the system. You can avoid hepes and kondylom warts by checking her vagina with a lamp before going munch diving if you must.
