G'Day
I was thinkin' of having a full medical at one of the hospitals in Bkk next month. I've checked a few hospitals' web sites that show prices varying dependin' on what you get checked, as you would expect.
Any of you chaps have a recommendation for a specific hospital for a full medical?

bumrungrad, best and most expensive in town. excellent service and extremely cheap by western standards. I have been there before and was very pleased with their services. they do the health screening programms. check the website.

I have done the Bumrungrad full "monty" and it covers everything. They give you a writen report when all test results come back. Only tough part was taking a poop in a cup.
They have various plans for what you want to check at different prices. What ever you do, go early. I went at 7:30 am and there 4 others there already.

Dump in a cup, wow, how big was the cup, one of those big 7/11 slurpy variety ?? or a little paper water cup type. Did it have a cover on it, did you walk out of the loo with it uncovered and hand it to someone. Did you do a really big one in it, did it hang out over the edge. I bet you got some on the edge of the cup didn't you ??
How long did the entire procedure take, the medical, not the dump, all day or hours ??
Imagine if someone swallowed their glass eye and took that dump in for a test.

Hey you can book a special time/day through the Bum. H. website no problem.
The full report is cool, one page for each area of testing, and you get who did the lab test, the normal readings to compare your results with, and other good stuff.
You can also do the tread mill routine if your ticker is so-so.
Going from one place to another place on the floors is a bit confusing when you first think you need to take your files etc. but when you get there it is like they know who you are already and sometimes they are waiting for you so you get tested right away.
Yeah the poop in the cup routine is like shooting a 3 pointer from center court with a tennis ball.
How to do it? Use your imaginatin, its easy.

Thanks for all your responses chaps, I'm still chortling about the cup business. What about if you had a Ruby the nite before?

You got there at 07:30, when did they let you go? I reckon on goin' for the full hit as well. Any restrictions e.g. do the hospital folk tell you not to drink or eat spicy food within 24 hrs or some such? Did you give a sperm sample or was THAT test not on the to-do list?

I was in by 7:30 and out just after noontime. That included waiting for some of the tests as others were using them. Then a prelim review with the Dr. who gave the usual cautionary notes... you drink too much, you are lazy and you should stop porking anything that moves.
If I am not mistaken you should not eat or drink anything after midnight. Sperm count not necessary... bullets are still in the chamber.

I am not surprised you have an interest in the DUMP! After reading about you giving birth to the anti-christ during your recent hospital visit, I imagine a super-sized big gulp would have had trouble holdng the cargo.
But since you asked, it was a normal dump. Two sections of the BKK Post. Had it been a world class loaf, it would have required technicians coming in and slicing it off in foot long sections which would have been sent to the ministry of mining and used as core samples.

My SO went for a full blood test and we were upsold on a full exam by the doctor....... ended up costing some 11,000Baht all told.
It is pretty thorough though.
