Yeah it was no garage music in the dinosaurs era..
Free lesson for trolling reptiles:

"The term was first used in the US to describe a form of house music,The name comes from the "Paradise Garage" nightclub in NY.The evolution of house music in the UK in the 1990's,led to the term being applied to a new form of music also known as UK Garage. This is now frequently grouped with forms like Hip-hop, rap and R&B,under the description urban music. The correct pronunciation of UK Garage is "Garridge", rather than in the same way as the building (although the pronunciation "garridge" for the building is also common in the UK)."

Well check out Griffin on top of the music scene. Maybe there is a tongue piercing in your future. Maybe before one of us from your hotties in RCA

Where are the good dance clubs in BKK?

I like the music in Lucifers and Narcissus, trance is my favourite. Are there any other clubs which play this sort of music?

If so, what is the vibe like and are the girls friendly generally?

Narcissus and Lucifer are definitely the top 2 by a reasonable margin. Narcissus is best at weekends and Lucifer during the weekdays.

There are some others which you might like to try out.

Ezze (RCA) - Pure trance great sound system
DDM (KSR) - Have a trance night every Friday
Code (RCA) - Tend to mix Trance with hard house
Xcentrix (Silom, Soi 4) - Has 3 floors, usually one dedicated to house/trance. Many Lucifer clients go there pre-Lucifer.

Santika and Booze do not play Trance.

Santika has a band that plays music like Linkin Park, Evanescence etc. (pop?) and then the DJ plays house mostly (very like Forte).

Booze has a band that plays mostly Thai songs with a few farang pop songs followed by a DJ playing house (I dont really know the difference between house and garage - I consider them basically the same but started at different places in the US. House Warehouse/Chicago, Garage/New York).

Lava (KSR) used to play a lot of trance but has now moved over exclusively to hip hop.

As someone else said - hip hop is definitely in and dance/trance definitely out.... hope it changes soon.

As for the girls... well as you know Lucifer's has lots of freelancers (and afterhours Patpong girls) mixed with other TGs. Narcissus has lots of girls but you need to work them. The clubs I have mentioned are pretty Thai (more so than Narcissus so I would generally recommend that you pick your own).

P.S. I am not trying to be overly clever with this post - I am a regular at Narcissus and Lucifer and a big fan of the music there. The places I have mentioned are the clubs that play the likes of Tiesto, Armin Van Buurin, Paul Van Dyke, Oakenfold etc...

Garage is basically House Music with a large amount of vocals.
Rami is right on the "Paradise Garage" Club in NY. The resident DJ was Larry Levan. The Club was closed in 87 so I did not have chance to visit but I had the chance to get into the sound factory which is amazing.

You could classify House Music by Tempo (BPM) from Deep House to House, Pumpin house and Hard House.

Progressive is on its own.
