Hey Joe,
Youve got wrong in your post.
Thai people love Techno/trance/hard house in fact anything that gets the heart pumping,it is like fuel to them,so to call it crap is wrong,you may think its crap but they dont.
Don,
I should know this because i make the stuff,and half of it is not european,if i was making any other music here i wouldnt last long.
Hip hop,RnB,Reggie anything that relies on vocals is not popular in Asia (with the exception of Japan).
You will find it in some of the clubs but the quality is poor.

i was reading in a newspaper today that minsitry of sound has paul okenfold spinning on oct. 10, im def. going, he's one of the best in the world at techno, inarguably !

Your right, oakenfold is one of the best when it comes to live performing,you will be in for a good show.
The studio albums are not so hot.
Thai people have no idea who he is so expect mainly farangs at M.O.S.(plus the Thai beuatys of course!).

Im feeling it.. but im diverse.
I ask of Hio Hop because its world wide music, and i ask about the clubs so i can bring in new hip hop music with me upon my visit. (gifts)
I also frequent trance and house clubs, but living in L.A. and jus returning from miami. I dont think anything in thailand will compare to the "vibe" thats from the west.
The Open drug use and youngstas zooted off 'e" and nitro fuel the scene here in the states and europe.
Except for the "Full Moon Party" i doubt any nightclubs can raise the roof higher than what ive previously experienced...

Paul Oakenfold has played in BKK a few times. Thai people into the scene certainly do know who he is.
I still think it's crap. That doesn't mean I'm wrong, it means we have different tastes.
