Dude, Don't waste your time thinking about Rivas. I have spent a lot of time staying at the Sheraton, and I usually stop in Rivas for a drink, or bite to eat prior to moving on to better things for the night.
It is Always the same girls sitting there milking a glass of wine at the bar. They are all 25+, and have been around the block enough to have decided to target wealthier, lazier, business guys that are too lazy to go anywhere to get a girl. These girls want the ST $100 f*** from an older guy that will be satisfied with getting it once. The girls are not anywhere as hot as girls that you would find on the street, or anywhere for that matter. They just are just dressed a little better.
If you have not gotten yourself a girl by 1am, I would head over to CM2. There is every kinda Ho under the spectrum there. I usually play around at all the mixed bag places, and then if I have not had any BKK magic occur, I would head to CM2 to pick out some post 2am sex party recruits.

In my experience, you can get stunners there as late 2.30AM at the exit.

So do I - but I have the luxury of residence.
It seems a bit odd to me to do so when you are only here for 2 weeks.

For some of us who are capable, there is definately a thrill in working all aspects of BKK women. Sometimes it is nice to just go out to party, have fun, and see what presents itself during the nite. If all I wanted to do was f***, I would just stay in my hotel, and have girls sent to me the whole time there, but even that would get old after a while.
Having fun is paramount, and I usually find girls for every situation. Normally I like to work different types of girls at the same time. I work normal girls, Orbit dancer girls, and recreational sex girls. All in the name of good times. In one night you can play around in all areas if you want. There is nothing wrong with hanging out at some decent places prior to picking up a recreational sex girl.

Unless I am at some total P4P place I always treat a girl like a normal girl. When you are working things, you NEVER really know what a girl is, or what her real deal is.
There have been plenty of times when I have bit my tongue, suspecting a girl was a FL, when in fact she was not. Best to just roll with it and see what her deal is. It will eventually surface.
Nacisuss is a great place to go party and dance, but not a good place for a farang to be on the prowl looking for a girl. Not to say it is impossible at all, just much too many Asian guys in there on Friday and Saturday, and you usually have to work hard figure out who is with who.
