Personnally I despise double pricing and stopped patronising places where it was instaured during the last few years, like main boxing stadiums and natural reserves/parks. Definetely don't go the the temples and stuff like this, double pricing plus total lack of interest is just enough to get them totally blacklisted. MPs are a bit more difficult to resist but I still manage to stick where there's no whitey surcharge.
I'm going more and more often to Sri lanka for business purpose and despite the few (read again: good sides are FEW) good sides I start to see there I still recommend foreign tourists to spend their money elsewhere as there's an institutionnalised double pricing in I think all the tourist industry, and definetely all major hotels.

They do get charged 2-4 times as much for tuition at most state universities if that'll make you feel better.
Good point Mr. Ripper but the difference is that the Thai surcharge at Sriracha Zoo etc., is based on race. When a person who "looks" Thai/Asian rocks up to the Zoo they pay the Thai price. When a Falang lookin' person turns up at the Zoo they pay the Falang price 'cause he/she/LB look non-Thai/Asian.
They do get charged if they happen to be conversatin' in whatever their native language is when they are at the gate. True, normally Thai guides will help them get around it by telling everyone to be quiet, but they would be charged otherwised.

What a croc of shit. You do not have to open your gob or even get out of your car to be charged the FWF price structure.
I usually get even anyway, for example at the Siam Park, I usually piss in the pool upstream and let it trickle past all the Thais downstream.

Totally true. If Asians, especially eastern Asians don't say anything, they are often charged the Thai price. If however they are speaking Japanese, Chinese, etc., they get charged the foreigner price.

I have a Half Thai Half Dutch friend. He grew up in England and knows hardly any Thai and his mannerisms etc. are very "European". He is planning to join me next time on my trip to Thailand and would like to visit MPs. Will he be charged the Farang surcharge, or is he exempt. He features/skin tone went more towards his Thai mother and hence looks more Asian.
Just curious. Thx.

My -half and half- Thai friends get the Thai price, whether it's in entertainment places or public places. All can speak Thai though, at least well enough to tell whoever that they are Thai.

Since this is the "CUPIDY" thread allow me to get it back on track.
Cupidy - at 1800 baht for the fish bowl - is extremely good value - based upon what is on offer in Bkk.
Clean bright (huge) rooms. Stacks of clean fresh towels. And a huge selection of cute girls. Saves me having to go way the f*** up on Rachada Piesek Road.
Before BK posted I didn't know I was paying more than locals. Ignorance is bliss.
Cupidy at 1800 baht is one of the best MP in Bangkok. If the locals are earning 1/10 of my salary - best of luck to them.
