You guys might be talking about Plaza Entertainment, which is in the same building, but above Cupidy. Plaza is more expensive than Cupidy, has multiple floors and has a farang surcharge.
Cupidy is at the ground level (kinda like the basement) of the Plaza Entertainment building. The price is 1800 baht for fishbowl and 2200 for sideliners. If you are taken to Cupidy by a taxi or tout, there is a surcharge. There is no falang surcharge.
How do you get this price at Cupidy? You walk in (alone) and say to the papasan that you have been there before a while ago and point to the girls "still 1800, right?". He will nod yes, this conversation will be in English.  Never heard of anyone who has said this and been charged more. If you are charged more than this, it likely goes right to the papasan.
At Cupidy, make sure you specify a two hour session, or they might give you 90 minutes.

or do what I do. if you know u being charged papasan price. just say no and get another guy, one that notso mean looking. everytime I get outrageous price its alway by some rough looker.
if they look like those touts on suk avoid them and go to the hansum papas.

When you're done acting like a 12-year old, ask for Mr. Tiger next time you are at Cupidy (yes, that's what he calls himself) and you will get 90 minutes for 1700 Baht, 2 hours for 1800 Baht. Never had a problem with him, and he often gives good advice on the girls. I usually tip him 300 Baht, and if the girl was exceptionally good, another 200 Baht in leaving. Oddly, I never received bad service, or am being overcharged there -- and, double-oddly, I never have to feel like 'taking on' any of them.

We were there both time at around 9pm. There were many Middle-Easterners there and my French comrade was charged 3000 bht as well for the supposedly model-looking ones. (fishbowl on left side, on entering Cupidy)
Being a newbie there, we were introduced that 2 fisbowls exist. The larger one was "advertised" at 2500 bht and the other 3000 bht. This was the climate 2 weeks back. I'm not sure if it still goes that way. But I did notice plenty falangs and Middle-Easterners paying 3000 baht.
Sadly enough, even the Cupidy gals play the game along. So much for GFE. Reminds me of the same shit that happened in Geylang, Singapore.

Cupidy is on the ground floor freelancers left side,fish bowl in the middle. 1800 baht I pay tip to papa san 100 baht and the ladies take care of the room nothing to the girl
Usually get two shots at least, nice time on the mattress, very nice 2 hrs all round

When I was there about a month ago I was quoted 4,000 bhat and I just laughed and told him 1,800. He got all hushed up because he had a bunch of Japanese paying 3,000-4,000 bhat from what I could tell. One thing that is a pain about Cupidy is that it's surrounded by touts and they all insist on taking you there. I even had one taxi driver claim me even though I got dropped off at the Prince Hotel. My recomendation is to just take a taxi to the front, pay the 2,000 (200 taxi surcharge) and get it over with. I spent a lot of time wandering around dodging touts and looking for the place after being dropped off at the Prince Hotel. Also, I saw little to no difference between the sideliners and the fishbowl girls. When I was there, there were about 40 - 50 girls to choose from most of them were very pretty. The one I chose was great, it was a lot of fun. I wish I would have checked out Plaza Entertainment upstairs but didn't get around to it.

Now that strikes a chord! The more fishbowls I see nearby the sideliners the less difference I can make out. For the life of me, I can't differentiate a better value between the two groups any more.

The only time I had a problem at Cupidy was the first time when I shelled out 5000 THB. At least it was fun and worth coming back. In any case, the fishbowl girls are just as fine as the sideliners, but the fishbowl girls are more enthused and don't have their head up their ass. Pick a fishbowl girl and have some real fun. Pass the Baht savings to her, before or after, whatever works best for you, and you'll have a better time than hanging out with a pretty starfish for 2 hours.
