I do bring in my out of town friends & BTF pm'ers. I get told not to share the pricing structure with other visitors. They will charge the dopes as much as possible. Anything up to 4000.

This is true.
I was there this week and had not been for over a year.
The sharp papasan quote me 3000FB, 3500/3900 sideliners.
I laughed and corrected him. 2000/2200/2500.
He relented when I began to speak Thai to him.
Maybe I should have started at 1800.
My girl was very professional but was reluctant to kiss which ticked me off. But she sure made me light up with her technique.

A direct answer to your question might be to walk out and take a moto or taxi (~50 baht) to Evita or Meree or someplace else that appreciates your business and has a papasan that charges the proper price. 
If you start out by telling him you paid 1800 every time you have been there before, then that will be your price. If you have been brought by a taxi, then it will be more because they have to pay the taxi a commission.
People come to Cupidy because of the convenience. Same with Darlings. I haven't been here for awhile because I've found much better service elsewhere, but YMMV.

Cupidy was 1800 for fishbowl as of last February when I was there, and I would insist on that price. 2000 is often quoted because they pass on the taxi commission to you. Take a taxi to the Prince Hotel and walk. Then again, the difference between 2000 and 1800 is negligible. My advice is not to hassle while on vacation for $5 - $10.
