As I siad, the full Rueben in the Landmark's Coffee Shop is 250 baht, which is around US$7.
I had a many times and US$7 is certainly not too much and I wonder if you can get a Rueben in an ordinary US deli for less. Please refer me to it online.
And if you never tried it, how do you know it's mediocre? The bread is good, the meat tasty and the curly fries are a joy!

The price of corned beef can vary significantly depending on the quality of the beef (prime, choice, select, etc).

'One account holds that Reuben Kulakofsky (sometimes spelled Reubin, or the last name shortened to Kay), a grocer from Omaha, Nebraska, was the inventor, perhaps as part of a group effort by members of Kulakofsky's weekly poker game held in the Blackstone Hotel from around 1920 through 1935. The participants, who nicknamed themselves "the committee," included the hotel's owner, Charles Schimmel. The sandwich first gained local fame when Schimmel put it on the Blackstone's lunch menu.
Other accounts hold that its creator was Arthur Reuben, owner of the once famous but now no longer existing Reuben's Delicatessen in New York,[2] who, according to an interview with Craig Claiborne, invented the sandwich around 1914.[3] A version of the story is related by Bernard Sobel in his book Broadway Heartbeat: Memoirs of a Press Agent and claims that the sandwich was an extemporaneous creation for Marjorie Rambeau inaugurated when the famed Broadway actress visited the Delicatessen one night when the cupboards were particularly bare.[4]'

LOL. Just making that comment says more about that says more about "your" people than about the others. Would you be from the same place where scientists spent millions of US$ to send a probe to Mars, just to have it go bust because they didn't know how to convert from metric to imperial? LOL.

Perhaps you should worry more about medical staff in the USA giving the wrong amount of drugs because they do not understand metric as show in the example below (taken from: http://www.ismp.org/Newsletters/acutecare/articles/A3Q99Action.asp )
Problem: A patient received phenobarbital 0.5 grams (500 mg, obtained from 4 x 130 mg unit dose syringes) IV daily for three days instead of 0.5 grains after the prescriber misread the apothecary dose listed on the patient's prescription bottle.
Recommendation: Only the metric system should be used when prescribing and labeling drugs. Educate practitioners that needing more than 2 or 3 dosage units could signal an error.
