Mr Alan
I posted this info in another thread not dealing with food so I thought I would repeat it here.

Best places for pizza and pasta I found are:

1. Bella Napoli on Soi 31 (not too far down on left side, only open after 6pm),

2. Govinda on Soi 22 (in a plaza just before Larry's Dive Shop very near Sukhumvit).

3. Good pizza by the slice is at the Central Department Store Food Court (7F) at Chitlom (on Chitlom BTS Stop).

If you haven't tried these places, don't complain about pizza in BKK.

Mr. A,

With all due respect who the F----K! wants to eat Pizza in Thailand?

When in Rome, etc, etc..

I would not dream of going to Italy and searching out a Thai Restaurant. ÝBut then again, why would I want to go to Italy in the first place?

I have heard of some strange people who actually eat at McDonalds no matter where they are in the world . ÝIt's a strange old world we live in

I love this place even thought it may not love me.

TC.

Mr Alan
I was in Thailand for 30 days. I choose not to eat Thai food 3 times a day, every day I was there, although I did eat more than my share.

Although I have never eaten hamburgers in Thailand, I have tried the fried chicken at McDonald's (the spicy variety). If you think you can get Thailand McDonald's spicy fried chicken anywhere in the world, then I think you are mistaken. And if you are a sissy when it comes to really spicy food, you better have some milk ready when you eat it.

If I was in Italy for a month, and there were some good ethnic restaurants other than Italian food, I would not hesitate to eat at them. I usually look for the best recommended restaurants wherever I am, regardless of the type of food.

I also eat Thai food frequently in the USA, along with other Asian varieties such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, and Japanese food (although not much Korean). The Thai food in the USA is typically very good quality.

Hi, Mr Alan,

OK, ya got me there. I should be more understanding. ÝPlease accept my appologies..

However, I did not say I could get spicy Thai Chicken at McDonalds any where!
I would not cross the street to even piss in a McDonalds doorway...

Also, eating Hot Spicy Food doesn't really bother me.
I grew up in Birmingham England, and if you know anything at all about hot spicy food you should know that Birmingham is THE home of THE Hot (and I mean really hot!) Spicy Indian Curry!! And we don't drink milk with it, only Beer...

Try a Tindaloo if you really want hot Poo!! ÝLol.

You are correct, there are some very good ethnic restaurants all over the world, what I don't like is fast food, ie Pizza, Big Mac, Burger King, etc, etc.

But that's just MOHO. ÝEveryone to their own.

Have a nice day Mr. A. ÝI will buy you a beer if we ever meet up in BKK. ÝYou can buy your own milk..lol,lol.

I love this place even though some people don't like me...LOL

here here, I eat what I want where I want and when I want....who needs self imposed rules about eating....it's all excellent and these days Bangkok has many good restaurants to offer of all types....unlike in darker days gone by.

Hi Triyclops,

No problem with your post. Maybe I was being a bit defensive. I once worked with a guy who was exactly like you said, someone who wanted to eat at a McDonalds in every country he could. On a business trip to Frankfurt and Tokyo, he ate at McDonalds for dinner while the rest of us went to a restaurant with local cuisine. He actually admitted that he wanted to sample McDonalds everyplace he could (for reason's I can't understand).

I did not mean to suggest that you said anything about the Thailand McDonalds fried chicken being available anywhere, just that I tried it once and it was quite good (and quite spicy). But you have to ask for the spicy stuff because they also have a mild version.

I donít like Western fast food much either, but I tried a lot Asian food courts at the Emporium, MBK, and Central Department Store (Chitlom). I will admit to the pizza and some ribs, but I have never eaten a hamburger in Thailand.

If you have a chance, then try a "Whopper" at Burger King.

Have you tried a Pizza at CM2? They used to have crocodile meat pizza.

I bought Mikky D's for TG's before. ÝThey took off the bread and just picked at the meat. ÝThey did like KFC though. ÝI also ate a really nice fat burger (old fashion style) with steak fries at O'Reilly's (it was very good). Next time out to LOS I think I'm going to try Pizza Hut's spicy chicken pizza. Ý

Hi Mr. A,

Have you ever tried a good Hot and Spicy Indian Madras or Vindaloo Curry?

I have heard that there is a good restaurant in BKK, but the name slips my mind. Ý

I love this place , even though it may not love me.

When I was in Thailand in March my Thai friend asked me out for lunch and she took me to KFC! I didn't want to offend her so I went in and she ordered spicy Thai chicken and it was surprisingly delicious. I'm glad I went and sampled it but I wouldn't do it all the time.
I'm looking forward to eating more insects when I return in 15 days.
