Hiya,
following recommendation of C & N Hotel in Phuket I tried to book a room for a long weekend in January 2005.
I know that it's high season and all but they haven't replied to my emails yet so after several attempts with them to secure a room I may have to look elsewhere for an accomodation around Patong beach.
Anyone had the same problem with them? If so do you have alternative and similarly priced and located hotels in Phuket?

I'm surprised to hear that about C&N. In fact I was originally trying to get a bungalow at Sansabai bungalows and they wouldn't answer my emails  . Then after reading bad reviews for Sansabai and good ones for C&N I got a room there for 600 baht a night in September. I quoted this forum which probably helped me name my price.
That info might not help you too much. For what it's worth though, when I'm there in September I can pass your email address on to the staff there and try to press them to contact you. Let me know.

thanx for the offer, I've just sent you a pm.
As I said I've sent them severals emails (even sent a booking request via their website) but to no avail. It could either be that they are fully booked in mid January 2005 or haven't got the hang to using emails. Whichever way....
As an aside it would helpful to hear from any bros of similarly priced and located hotels in that area.

I've just managed to secure a booking with C&N hotel, at long last! - I've been quoted 1,250 Baht for the Double Room per night; in mid January 2005.

Just got a confirmation for 800 baht/night (exclusive breakfast) -double room, for a reservation in March 2005. From what I know most hotels state that March is still High Season but there are some hotels that state its low season...... 
Just wondering if this is an OK price, and do you guys know how much extra breakfast usually costs at C&N or is it better to have breakfast elsewhere?

The price they have given you is good and it does not include breakfast,you pay for that as you go.
There are plenty of places in the area to eat,no drama.
Good hotel central to all the action and a short walk to the beach and dont forget to ask for the free pick up from the airport.
