I will offer a tiny comment, with your permission. I don't have much time right now to read this as thoroughly as I would like, but having read about half of it so far, I would like to say Thanks for your detailed posts on human sexuality and Kinsey's reports earlier in this thread. Yes, we tend to think in categories since birth outlined by our societies, yet we are at heart individually probably much more of an undifferentiated sexually biological combination than our self image admits, and that the big books try to analyze, dissect, categorize, and in some cases, control or decimate. We will always be attracted to aspects of other people. The majority of these attractions are identifiable and appear reasonable (eg, my attraction to a certain shape of hips or ass or warm attitude) ; others have no discernible value and require more investigation.
Of course, sexuality, being an aspect of our original identity, is expressed in our every gesture, constantly demonstrating our biological needs. Gestures are trained and interpreted within each competitive milieu--some may be 'officially' relegated to the world of sex, others to different social functions, but that doesn't remove our constant sexual identity from any of them.
Regarding the girls of Thailand who do not seem to be homosexual but get seduced by my sexual adversaries (besides other men), the tomboys: it's not the fact that these chicks, some of them quite foxy, are so disappointed in their Thai male lovers that that they seek solace in something they feel is more comfortable or safe that has always shocked me. Women are multi-sexual, and studies have shown that they respond sexually to sexual images involving almost any combination, animals included. Added to this, there is so much attention given to their nascent and potential sexuality in this culture, who could be surprised that a Thai girl would be attracted to another Thai girl?
Some of them stand in the mirror staring, just as amazed at their ass as I am when I see them about town.
But what has always gotten me is that most of these tomboys that seduce them would not be physically appealing or attractive by any gauge that I have experience with. Take off their men's workshirts and what have you got? A dumpy body in most cases, dumpier that many men's--and not even equipped with a penis for reaching those hard to get spots. In addition, the behavior of many tomboys is extremely domineering and jealous. An ugly tyrant. But apparently that tyranny is satisfying some female craving, or a deviation of it in this situation. So also I read in this thread about tomboy's keeping their clothes on during intimacy and continuing to play this male role... Very interesting.
Now, I realize that people who shop in GoGo bars, etc, will have tales of hot lesbians... But that is simply not the case with the majority on the street. So far as I've read, this thread seems to realize that.
Anyway, restricted on time, this was just an initial thought of mine; there are some other interesting posts here, too, that I will go back and read more thoroughly.
