I hit a trifecta at monmouth park new jersey last year and the lady had spaced my winners out over three races on my ticket! The group I was with all knew what I had bet and one of them was right behind me when I bet and heard everything - he is a track rat and said I ordered the trifecta just like I was supposed to and she f* (*ed up. A costly way to learn to check my ticket.

Good news is that I had Giants and GB lasy week. Like GB to cover easily this week if it is not too windy.

It shouldn't be too windy, but sub-zero temperatures are expected. Welcome to Ice Bowl II

I need to find if anyone know a place that may be showing the Patriots vs Broncos in Bangkok Mon at 3 AM Monday morning.

Probably is pretty unlikely. Thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks in advance.

VERY unlikely in that the Patriots are not playing the Broncos. However, if you are asking about the Chargers and Pats then most sports bars in BKK will be showing. Call and ask....Bourbon Street, Bullys, etc...

Well, I told you this would happen.

Bret Favvvraa blows it again. He throws a really, really stupid interception in his own territory in overtime, and the Giants are able to kick a field goal and advance to the Super Bowl.

Favvvraa has some physical talent, but like I said, he usually folds in the clutch and throws a really stupid interception. That is his trademark. It will be on his tombstone.

Bret Favvvraa is a stupid little boy, who will never be one of the top 10 quarterbacks of all time.

Actually, the main reason the Packers lost was they couldn't run the ball effectively. But yes, that's Favre's fault for not throwing more blocks.

If Favre retires tomorrow, he's already established himself as one of the top 5 quarterbacks of all-time.

The main reason? I don't think so. The lack of running game is because Favvraa could not throw in the second half and keep the defense honest.

Once the overtime started, it is imperative at all costs to not make a mistake. Little boy Favvraaa couldn't help himself, and as the say, "pigs get slaughtered."

BTW, I love your field trip posts, especially the ones from Pattaya, but obviously, all those TG's have f'ed your brains out (I wish that would happen to me, but I am back home for now, so I will have to be the voice of reason on this subject).

From the Green Bay Press Gazette Newspaper

Mike Woods column: Stage was set, but Favre couldn't deliver

It would be foolish to pin the tail on a single donkey, for many had a hand in one of the most disappointing days in Green Bay Packers history.

But when Brett Favre led the offense on the field in a 20-20 game with 6:49 to play, you expected something special to happen, anticipation born out a long list of magic acts executed by the team’s greatest player ever.

Instead, what you got was three-and-out.

But then came another chance, with 2:48 to play, and the game still tied.

This time you thought Favre would surely deliver. For you knew of his 41-5 record and 90+ passer rating at home when the temperature at kickoff was 34 degrees or less.

Ma Nature gave us all of –1 degree at kickoff, so was the situation ready made for Favre or what?

What we got again was three-and-out.

But thank goodness for Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, who kept breathing life into the Packers’ season with two straight field-goal attempts that sailed left of target.

“This game even,’’ said Favre, “where it was going back and forth, you just had the sense it was going to fall into place for us again.’’

Well yeah, the Packers win the toss in overtime and this time, without a doubt, the 38-year-old golden boy would make another memory in a season that was one of his greatest ever. You just knew, with a Super Bowl berth on the line, he would turn back the clock one more time.

And he did. To 2003.

Just as he did in Philadelphia in the NFC divisional playoffs, Favre threw a horrible pass in overtime, it was picked by the Giants’ Corey Webster at the Packers’ 34 and four plays later Tynes went morphed from goat to hero with a game-winning 47-yard field goal.

Giants 23, Packers 20.

The Giants are going to the Super Bowl. The Packers are going to be seeing the team psychologist for the next several months.

All season this team had the look of one that was destined. Even Favre believed.

“It’s been one of those thing where, ‘Yeah, we’re going to do it. We’re going to go it,’" said Favre. “Even though we struggled here, had a setback there, after a while I had so many people on this team and my wife Deanna and other people close to me say ‘ You just have to believe. It’s falling into place.’ And it sure seemed that way."

But in another critically important moment in what has been an uneven playoff career, Favre was unable to live up to his legend.

He would finish this day 19-of-35 for 236 yards, two touchdowns, two picks and several throws where it was clear to those watching that he was pressing, taking chances that were not only low percentage but unnecessary.
