Over the last few weeks I have taken Mrs La Rue clothes shopping 3 times to makė up for all the time she spends in the house in winter, tending to young Kuhn Kane. She has ended up with three pairs of 3 different shades of blue jeans. They are all a tiny too tight after giving birth, but I tell her it makes her bum appear really sexy. she has branded me baqwuan with corresponding sex to go with it.
She claims its the tum yam soup.

OK...guys ready for another installment? too bad you are getting one 
After a couple of attempts mrs atl finally got her first drivers license 
*edit in* before you ask, she 100% refused to let me spend the 400 or so dollars for a driving course...I tried..
she called and asked my mom to take her because as she says to me, " you make me serious and bring bad luck to me everytime before!"
she and my mom called afterwards and mrs atl was crying and laughing and so ecstatic...just another example of how something we think of as insignificant and just normal impacts a 36 year old thai lady...but this totally usurps her reaction to a dish washer, garbage disposal or ice cube making refrigerator LOL!
its a big deal for her because when we dated & lived together in BKK obviously there was BTS and in LA we lived near the Universal Studio subway station and she could get to work, and meet her friends at any station so they didnt have to pick her up or have me drop her off...
now back in the atl, she can walk to work but when she goes shopping or movies with her friends they always have to pick her up when I am not around to drop her...and believe me that shit gets old no matter how much you love someone 
she ends her phone call with, "now I can pick Oy (her thai friend) up..she not have to drive me anymore....this is history in my life!"

I felt this little story deemed a dust off of this thread..
mrs atl's granpa passed away last month and she has made a mini-prayer shrine in our dining room (since it is never used) you know with pictures, a couple of buddha's and a small bowl filled with rice to hold her insense sticks..
anyway, she always leaves for work about an hour before I do and every morning since he passed I go downstairs and smell the insense and see a plate with usually some egg, rice, cuts of fruit with a glass of water and whatever gatorade I have in the fridge......
BTW, she does this again at dinner time...and if we eat out asks for a to-go box when the meal arrives so she can put his portion aside before she begins eating..
so this morning she gets up about 45 minutes early from her normal time, I am just out like a light and wake up to say "why are you up now?"
mrs atl "I must do something!"
me thinking to myself whatever, but please dont turn on the overhead light
anyway, this is where it gets classic...
She leaves and then about 20 minutes later I hear her come back in...I think nothing of it as she probably forgot something.....
I get up and get ready and go downstairs to grab my wallet and keys to leave and notice a bag from the BBQ restaurant just down the street from our house (they make an awesome southern breakfast)...
I peek in the dining room and on a plate this morning was a stack of pancakes, 2 sausage links, some grits and a big biscuit (their signature) with jelly spread over it......
That was probably like 7 bucks....so I just crack a smile and leave for the office...
so when we talk around lunchtime I say "Tilac, you gave your grandpa a nice breakfast this morning huh?"
"Yes, I spoke with him last night and I tell him that I will give him new menu in the morning and he never eat pancake or grit before in his life"
Me "you spoke with your granpa last night?"
"sure, you dont believe I speak with my grandpa last night?"
I just smile and tuck that little look on her face away in my memory.....
classic...that after 3 1/2 years they still bust out things that amaze us.....
as for really speaking with granpa...surely it was a dream...
but hey, whatever makes her content is all good

Mate my Wife does same same and it's over ten years!
Funny thing we have a small retail shop and every time she does the incense prayer thing I have good sales that day!
There's another guy in my town and his thai mrs has put a spell on him!
Poor prick he will do anything for her and the Money she wastes is unreal! he works his arse off and she just takes 
First time we meet them she told my wife that she was going to get a spell on his parents and get all there money,straight away my wife said she NO good!
ask your mrs about that black magic shit.

Spot the f*** on man and dont worry......she bought mega millions lotto for 20 weeks advance after "speaking with him".....this was like a week after he passed.....
Jingjo, mrs atl also makes rather accurate ascertations about thai women she meets here in the US...I think she looks at most of them with a bit of skepticism (although hides it) from the get go...until she gets to know them....

ok, how about this one.....
The mrs. like to eat toast layered with sour cream. Daily.
I bbq'd steaks the other day and she layered KLimche over the top of her steak.
Yesterday she ate a whole can of artichoke hearts. She loves them, we now always keep 3 or 4 extra cans on the shelf.
She bought a s bottle of the spice 'cumin'. When we got home I asked why she bought it and she said 'it not cost much money'. So I opened it and let her smell it. I can bet you 100% that she will never use it.
She is probably the most inefficient vacumer I have ever seen. Takes forever to vacume. Shit, it just ain't that hard to vacume.

I forgot on ething.
I used to go upcountry a lot and always enjoyed this scene:
The floor is spotless. It is swept 10 times a day, kept very clean.
But then you look at anyhting above ground level and it never gets dusted. NEVER. Not just in one house, I have been to many homes upcountry. There seems to be a total disconnect between keeping the floors clean and keeping everyhting else clean.
Next time you are up in a village, remember this and see if you don't see the same things.

Cheers for the stories......regarding household appliances when we moved back to the atl from LA our house has a kick ass dishwasher...
The first time she saw one was at my parents house when she first arrived 4 years ago....
My mom had amazed her with this invention but since it had been awhile since she used one I show her how to use it...you know where to put the soap etc...but I didnt specify the soap...you know where this going
So the first time she used it she put the wrong soap in (the stuff you wash dishes with in the sink and not in the machine) and our kitchen filled up with suds like a "soapy rave" at a nightclub lol!
So now, almost 2 years later, she still washes it all by hand and just puts them in the (top of the line) dishwasher "for dry" I dont think it has even been run since 
We have hardwoods in all but 1 room, so she pretty much sweeps the whole house anyway...But I remember posting about her utter amazement when she first saw my mom's vacuum cleaner....
I know I have a million more....let me think!

Now that I think anout it...she did the same thing at my parents house back when she first got here.....man she is a very smart woman but that soap gets here everytime
