I know it's a quagmire for you, but I think that is the type of picture that might be a positive addition. However, it could get ugly and I understand your position

If I had been there and they played Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" I would have thrown up! Why can't they just do a stirring rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" by Jimi Hendrix.

The entire process was pretty cool...and they played 2 versions of the star spangled banner, a classical one as everyone entered and then the cheesy one from Greenwood was the final "exit" version played LOL!
But beforehand, they called all the new citizens in and then the family's into this room.
Atlanta is the only city that does this daily, LA & NY do it weekly. Anyway, there were 178 people from 56 country's and when everyone was in the room they made the candidates stand up and raise their right hand and swear alligence to the USA.
Then they said sit down and stand as we call your country of origin. Well, when they said "India" about half of the 178 stood up and mrs atl was the sole representative from Thailand today
anyway, they gave a great speech about how they are now Americans and showed a brief, taped welcome from Obama, Dubya had one when he was prez, and then the lady gave a wonderful and inspiring talk about how their long road to achieve this was over and they could take a breath and know that they were now Americans and citizens of the greatest country on earth...
Well I am not kidding you guys at all, this Indian guy just screams at the top of his lungs in front of like 250 people "GOD BLESS AMERICA" and bust out in tears..I swear to god!!!!!
I am telling you guys, just about half the people there were in tears......makes me think what other country derives that much sentiment upon becoming a citizen???

Interesting. In the last month in Australia the Govt changed the law overnight on student visas. People coming to study nonsense courses such as hair dressing and cooking just to get themselves citizenship have been told they will no longer get it - this mainly affects Indian students
seems the Indians want to be anywhere but India
