Well SONY may make great phones, but their marketing SUCKS! This directly off of their website.
Sept. 30th.Today is the official launch date for the Xperia X1 and I just wanted to confirm to everyone that it has launched as planned. Units have left the factory and are on their way to the shops in the UK and Nordic markets where they should be available in the next week or so.
Jesus they count a launch date when they left the factory with no clue which shops will have them an when.

Said it before, I'll say it again -- Sony makes great products (not just phones), but their biggest handicap is... Sony.

Microsoft counts 'products shipped' as 'products sold'. Most companies with desperate numbers feel the need to stretch their numbers to make them appear better - Sony's problem, mostly, is that they still feel "We are so good, we don't need to tell people where our products are --- they will seek them out and find them on their own."
In essence, Sony thinks they are Apple - but they are not, on so many levels.
In fact, a former Sony president brokered a great deal with Apple once, and even gave a great co-keynote during a Macworld keynote. Apple showed off Sony products for their video products during that show, and it looked like the beginning of a period of closer cooperation between Sony and Apple -- a week later, that Sony president got fired (or, whatever the Japanese equivalent is) during a re-org. Brilliant!
Jobs has no interest in Sony.

Here's a little note on the 2.1 upgrade. I upgraded my friend's 2G iPhone from 1.1x to 2.1 using iTunes 8.0 but he kept on seeing (null) (null) in the carrier field after patching it with QuickPwn.
We tried to get rid of that "null" thingy by restoring it but to no avail. So we tried restoring it with a custom version of 2.0.1 which I happen to have a copy of, without using the DFU mode as I kept getting the 1600 error code. I just used the option-restore and selected the custom ipsw which Pwnage had created earlier (2.0.1). We saw the Bootnueter screen during the process. After that was completed, I then used iTunes to install version 2.1, and guess what? It works! I didn't need the QuickPwn to unlock it after all. Basically, if you have that copy of the the custom ipsw v. 2.0.1, you get an unlocked iphone 2g with version 2.1 of the firmware without using Pwnage at all and no those complicated steps to get into DFU mode is not necessary at all. Just use iTunes to load the modified 2.0.1 the do the normal upgrade to 2.1. Daffy, perhaps you'd like to verify this.

you actually touch the screen but also "push" it down too
sort of like a key but not a physical key if u know what I mean
im still not convinced with my bold, the graphics are good but the battery runs quick with 3g and wifi on, lasts a day only, and sometimes slow to send email in dubai, maybe the 3g network, I prefer it to be more curvey really

Wow, that's odd -- wasn't that one of the big complaints about iPhone earlier how *only* iPhone has these battery problems (ignoring how 3G and WiFi logically suck more battery power), or the issues with the 3G network. You don't say (gasp) but the infallible Blackberry has the same problems?
