BK at least tell us when you delete our posts

You don't actually bother reading posts that answer that concern -- I guess my message TWO posts earlier was too difficult to digest or understand, pointing out the exact same thing BK did in the post prior, and I pointed out three posts prior to yours.

Missing posts eh.... probably all of the non-iPhone supporting posts.... so iDuck, do you have editing privileges on this thread now
As always, epic failure to even conduct the most minimal research - i.e. reading an explanatory message 2 posts earlier - defines your very being (or confirms my statement a post prior to yours).

Get your unlocked iPhone right here, in Hong Kong.

You can now buy an unlocked iPhone, via Apple's Online Stores in Hong Kong (requires you to have a Hong Kong address, though).

8GB version - $700
16GB version - $800

(AP link, so it's gotta be a legit source, right?)

yawn sigh back at daffy who yet again proves his narrow mindedness that perhaps we all read those posts but we mean posts have been deleted AFTER the first 100 pages, i.e as we are on page 40something now, maybe we mean posts in the last few weeks, and NOT months ago?!

According to mobile market tracker Canalys however, it has been Microsoft's Windows Mobile share of the market that has slid precipitously, falling from 23% in the first quarter of 2004 to 18% the next year, and 12% in 2006, where it remained through 2007. In the fourth quarter of 2007, Apple grabbed 7% of the worldwide smartphone share, despite being limited to one model and primarily one provider in one country. It's expected that Apple will match or overshadow Windows Mobile sales worldwide this year, and the iPhone has already trounced Windows Mobile in the US and as a browsing platform.

Well I predict that will change next year as SONY has now released the Experia X1 of which they created a much needed facelift for Windows Mobile with configurable panels.

I will buy one as soon as it is available in Thailand which should be by the end of this year. Now released in the UK and Nordic countries. USA to follow in Nov.

I'm actually holding out much hope for the Experia, as a very viable smartphone, even though its biggest liability will be that it is from Sony - i.e. I'm half expecting Sony to screw it up with some artificial limitation, or deliberately not including a much desired feature.

If it delivers what people hope from it, it stands to be a decent smartphone for Sony's sales goals -- albeit doubtful if it will affect iPhone sale. Again, any well-executed Windows Mobile product will only steal from the rest of the market share, IMO. (and, consider that Sony is eyeing Android, and the Experia hardware would provide a formidable hardware platform to run Android...)

Really, the only two hardware manufacturers worth looking out for are Sony and HTC, in their respective niches -- Nokia stands in its own space.

Nokia 5800, 'tube' - now things can get interesting, though it runs Symbian, so we'll see how it reviews.
-------------

Nokia has launched the long-rumored touch phone, aka the Tube, and it is the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The 5800 is a touch-only phone with a focus on multimedia playing, no doubt to prevent inevitable iPhone comparisons. The handset maker also rolls out their Comes With Music service, a music store that coupled with multimedia phones by Nokia provide a one year access to all the music downloads you want for free. You get to keep everything you download too so this is a pioneering move on Nokia's part.

The 5800 phone will not be compared to the iPhone as it's a lot clunkier and boring for sure. It has a 640x360 screen that is nice and bright and all touch screen. It's a resistive touch screen though, so it's sure to not work as well as that on the iPhone. That's likely the reason Nokia includes that shark's fin stylus in the photo above as you'll probably need to use it a lot. The screen provides haptic feedback when touched like many phones and it is all powered by the new version of the OS, S60 Fifth Edition.

The 5800 XpressMusic is not breaking much new ground, it's rather like a high-end feature phone with touch. The real news here is the Comes With Music package bundle. Buy the 5800, get a one year subscription to the all you can eat music store. You get to keep all downloaded music even without renewing the subscription making it pretty innovative. Note that according to Nokia music can only be downloaded to the phone so you'll be restricted by the amount of storage available on the phone for that year. You can only burn the music to CD for safekeeping by another paid subscription plan.

The Symbian browser has been updated to work better with touch and videos I've seen of it in action it looks pretty good. It won't unseat Mobile Safari yet but it's better than prior versions of the browser.

Note that currently Nokia is not saying when the 5800 will be available outside Europe. They have stated that it will be available in Western European markets in Q1 2009. They also plan a version of the music store for the US market but cannot say when that will happen. It is expected the 5800 and music store will not be available in the US until sometime next year.

Latest Jobs' Health Rumor: It's NOT True He Had Heart Attack
Posted By:Jim Goldman

CNBC.com
Apple Stocks Down
If investors ever needed a clearer example of the manipulation torpedoing Apple shares, and the susceptibility of these shares to all the insecurities swirling around this company, look no further than the garbage on the web this morning.

Some idiot posts a statement on a CNN citizen journalism web site that Apple CEO Steve Jobs suffered a heart attack. And while this is America and we do enjoy the First Amendment right to free speech, this was the financial equivalent of "Fire" on a crowded trading floor.

I'm reluctant to even address any of this since it all hinges on a silly-- yet dangerous--rumor. But because the headline drove Apple to a new 52-week low, and because Apple took the right step in shooting the rumor down ("It's not true," a spokesman assures me), this needs to be talked about.

Apple is a target of manipulation precisely because it is a target of manipulation. What I mean is that like 5-year olds playing, when they tease each other, they do so because it evokes a reaction. The more the victim cries, the more teasing that will come his way. The trouble with Apple: the company's secretive nature, its carefully crafted image, Jobs' history of health issues and his intrinsic importance to the future success of the company all contribute to the effectiveness of these rumors in moving Apple shares. Good and bad, quite frankly.

Today's blog stupidity was only matched by the gullibility of traders who acted on the rumor. And with electronic trading and a few traders capable of wielding so much power, individual investors are essentially helpless.

It's not true. The rumor is not true. But the reaction to it just goes to show the enormous insecurity some traders suffer toward Apple and its shares. And how easy it is to manipulate this stock. That in itself is an unfortunate risk factor investors have to accept if they're going to put their hard-earned cash into this company.

How unfortunate. But such is the ridiculous climate on Wall Street right now. I hope they find this guy who wrote this post. But all the traders who dumped Apple shares based on that garbage have some searching of their own to do. Soul-searching. Selling first and asking questions later is the work of amateurs. It's not true. The rumor is not true.

Are you saying the fund managers who sold the stock are amateurs? Aren’t they the same guys who bought into it as it was going up?

Since AAPL is largely held by institutions then the individual investor has no real bearing on the price movement of the stock. Whatever individual investors do means very little in terms of price movement; but when a fund manager wakes up one morning and decides he or she does not like the stock anymore; then it hits the stock and small individual share holders like a freight train. They never saw it coming.

That said; often times a stock will go down for no good reason and the fundamentals of the company have not changed at all.

That represents a great buying opportunity for those who want to accumulate more shares at a deep discount.

For the record I do not own any of AAPL but I love and support their products and the future potential of the company is great.
