I thought you, as everybody else, was making a reference to flash (as in Macromedia Flash), as in the browser based crap plugin to display flash content.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
As to the photographic flash -- you really should have watched the WWDC keynote video and the enhancements to the 3GS camera, before shooting off your mouth.

Apple seems to have no trouble selling iPhones in China, with probably a sales 'population' of over a million units. You can find iPhones at most mobile bazaars there (just as you can at MBK).
If you are asking when will Apple be selling through a provider in China -- as soon as that Chinese provider asks for them, and agrees to Apple's terms.
So far, it appears that China Mobile doesn't really want to carry the iPhone, so my guess is that China Unicom will soon be overtaking them in marketshare.

Doesn't matter to Apple one way or the other - they just upped the stakes with the $99 iPhone 3G, as well as the better and higher featureset in the iPhone 3GS.
Allegedly, the problem in the China market is the government's insistence on low-end technical specs for approval - yet Apple has 'accidentally' facilitated the flow of grey market iPhones by making unlocked iPhones available in Taiwan and Hong Kong -- directly from the Apple online store.
I'm almost certain you can draw a nearly straight line from both of those sources, directly to Chinese bazaar shopping malls... all of which just continues to exert pressure on China Mobile and China Unicom (and I consider China Unicom to be the forerunner - simply because they support the 3G frequencies Apple's phone supports, China Mobile does not).
They, in turn are the ones to deal with local regulations and gov't (read: paying bribes to get approval or to get rules changed).

Chinese iPhone deal nearing completion
After more than a year of efforts, a deal for a Chinese iPhone may finally be nearing completion, writes IDG. An unidentified Apple phone has appeared in the approved product list of the State Wireless Inspection Center, having last month been granted clearance for an assigned frequency range for up to five years. Apple is also said to have posted an ad for a Beijing-based worker, who would oversee creating training material for Asian iPhone carriers.
Perhaps more significantly, China has finally lifted a ban on Wi-Fi in cellphones, which was designed to restrict the flow of information in the country. The one caveat is that Wi-Fi-enabled phones must use an official Chinese security protocol, WAPI. The iPhone may or may not be able to communicate with WAPI networks using a software upgrade, says BDA analyst Liu Ning.
The most like carrier partner for Apple is believed to be China Unicom, which already has a WCDMA network compatible with the iPhone's 3G technology. Unicom is said to be pressing for the pre-installation of of its own apps however, and possible revenue sharing at the App Store, both of which run counter to Apple's normal business strategy. Two government tests also remain before the iPhone is officially sanctioned.

Jesus I thought this statement was crystal clear.
It seems that Apple finally came out with a much better phone addressing most of the user requests for improvements/features except it still does not have a flashlight/flash for camera
Doh! Flash as in Flashlight, not software Geez!
Some people in the Apple Cult are blinded by the Light and appear to see what they want to.

Your earlier references WAS crystal-clear. I was responding to snpark, who at one point was belaboring ad nauseam the lack of Flash (software) - nevertheless, I should have paid better attention, and for that I apologized.
Either way, Apple circumnavigated the flash(light) issue with a camera with better low-light capabilities, and software that further corrects for that. I think the only time we will see a true flashlight in the iPhone, is when Apple manages to integrate one in the Apple logo on the back.

erm excuse me no I was NOT
i never used flash with a capital F
and why would I be on about a software which can be downloaded when a flashLIGHT is a physical part of a phone WHICH AN IPHONE STILL DOES NOT HAVE
and anyone who follows this thread would know instantly that I obviously meant a flash for a camera due to the context of my post
