Apple, the world's most valuable company, is suddenly in a rut.
• A new report says 75 percent of smartphones out there are Android phones, and only 15 percent are iPhones.
• For the first time ever, iPhone customer loyalty is declining.
• Scott Forstall was suddenly booted from the company last week. He was the creator of iOS, Apple's most prolific inventor, and a former "CEO-in-waiting."
• The stock is cratering. It's down to $576 after peaking above $700 in mid-September.

I've told daffy to sell his shares for these reasons on numerous times over the last 6 months but he just won't listen
The competition has caught up & in some cases passed Apple. Having 1 model of a smart phone isn't very err smart. Samsung has a full range of phones to cater to 'everybody', Motorola has just being bought by Google, & Microsoft are thinking of making their own smart phone

About the only shit coming out of Korea that's catchy.
The Korean company Samsung might have improved but sorry I don't think Apple folks are getting a bad deal either.
I know the duck pumps up apple and annoys the K poppers here saying their shit is inferior.....but it most likely is anyhow.
Certainly Apple is selling more and the market leader and worlds biggest company.
You guys are like the beer bar girls of this game.

- 'shipping' does not equal 'selling'. Android manufacturers quote how many units they ship, not sell. The recent lawsuit forced Samsung to reveal actual sales numbers. Out of 2 million shipped phones, they sold a little over 200,000. Out of 3 million shipped tablets, they sold about 37,000. Samsung is the most successful of the Android makers. How do you think those numbers translate to the others, some of which are abandoning the tablet market, and are registering losses on phone handsets
Apple, since they sell direct to customers, sells nearly every unit that they ship.
'Shipping' means it sits on a shelf, unused, to be eventually returned to the manufacturer.
- Forstall getting fired is the best thing to happen to Apple. I was genuinely concerned as long as he was there. He is *not* the inventor of iOS (Bertrand Serlet had more to do with that), is not a prolific inventor (WTF?), and was never in the running for CEO (except in the minds of some pseudo-journalists).
- yes, the stock is down. Buy some.

Apple had its short day in the sun but the big boys: Microsoft, Samsung, Google, etc., etc. are circling the wagons with superior and less expensive products that don't dependent on hype for market share. You have your head so far up Apple's ass that you have no idea anymore what the sun in the real world looks like.
Tezza offered some good advice: "I've told daffy to sell his shares for these reasons on numerous times over the last 6 months but he just won't listen".
So don't pay any attention to what's happening around you. And don't listen to good advice from those who are paying attention. Stay in your little fantasy world. You're already down. Let's see how far you can go.

Oh yeah, following tezza's stock market advice.... that'd be almost like following SMEGMA's stock market advice (who lectured me that selling at $65 is the smart thing to do).
6 months ago? You guys really suck at this thing called reality - but then again, that's what makes you so entertaining.
Yeah, sure looks to me like the sun is setting on Apple's $120 billion dollar cash empire. Or is the sun setting on their 80% tablet marketshare? Or is the sun setting on their 90% profit share of the mobile market? Or is the sun setting on their #1 position in PC sales?

Van Baker, research vice president at tech research firm Gartner, attributes the sudden slip to a “perfect storm” of three recent events: the departure of iOS mastermind Scott Forstall and research chief John Browett at the end of October, concern over supply-chain constraints that are hindering sales, and a lack of completely new, innovative products.
Microsoft’s recently released Surface tablet and Android phones are quickly gaining traction in the marketplace and could be humbling to the tech giant. Microsoft, Samsung, Google, and Amazon are all on Apple’s heels. On Monday, KPCB partner Mary Meeker presented research showing Android phone adoption is six times faster than the iPhone. Then, on Thursday, Strategy Analytics, a Boston-based research firm, announced that Samsung’s Galaxy S III overtook Apple’s iPhone 4S as the world’s highest-selling smartphone for the first time in the third quarter.
“[Apple] hasn’t introduced a truly new product since the launch of the iPad nearly three years ago; instead it’s making incremental and overhyped improvements to its current lines,” wrote Dan Crow, an early Apple software engineer, in an article for The Guardian."
