I've read all the posts on this thread, but am still not sure if the Shangri-la hotel in Makati is girl friendly. Any advice?
All hotels in Manila are girl friendly.
I'll be coming to Manila for about two weeks next month, and would appreciate any advice on the three hottest fun/pick-up joints in Makati area. Plus one other joint

Hi, I'm coming to Manila for the first time in April on a business trip.
Will be staying at Manila Peninsula hotel.
Hoping to see some action on the weekends.
How far is this hotel from all the good places?
What if I DON'T want to bring a girl back to my room, to avoid a chance of running into my boss or collegaues?
Where can I take the girl? I guess another hotel...
Or can I ask the girl to enter the hotel and go to my room 10 minutes after me? Will she have a problem entering the hotel and pas trough thee security?
Is there an interactive online map of Manila somewhere?

Skip Manilla and go straight to Angelis city. You can arrange a pick up at the airport and go straight to your hotel in A/C. If you don't know about A/C its basically Pattaya without the beach. Another option is Asiania fly's directly to the Clark airbase. Angelis city is the famous sin pit of the Clark U.S.airbase. The road Fields avenue has the greatest number of GOGO bars.
There are several safety issues
These are If a Trike (motorcycle with side car) driver says
knows of a new bar Don't go with him its a scam to get you off the main drag so his friends can rob you.
Put everthing in your hotel safety deposite box
Don't accept food from strangers
Be weary of anyone who claims to hve met you before
Don't get dead drunk and stagger into an alleyway

Ditdo for any city in the world I think you will find. Of course change the worde trike for tuk tuk or taxe etc.

Ok! Let's reactivate this one!!! Anybody can tell me how far / how long a taxi ride it is from Makati (Greenbelt) to Malate - say the LA Cafe? Is it better to stay in Malate or Makati? Thanks all, and come right on with all your Manila stories and pubs, and FLs. I'm heading out there in a few weeks!

Is it better to stay in Malate or Makati? I prefer Makati or Edsa, which also makes you closer to P Burgos.

What are you blabbering about? Having lived, worked and played in nearly every city in SE Asia, Manila remains my favorite on several levels, especially nightlife. AC is great fun, but there is no reason WHATSOEVER to skip Manila.
There is plenty of information already on this board to get you more then going. Dont be lazy and UTFSE.

Plus, it’s rainy season now - so you can all but forget to find a cab. Especially one that will drive you that distance. During the day I’d say between 20 to 100 minutes. After midnight maybe 15.
One can get a dedicated driver and car in Manila for about 1000 pesos a day. That might be a good idea these days.
Is it better to stay in Malate or Makati?
If you are a newbie, stay in Makati (Ayala Center Area).
