don,,, Well I'm back home in Sydney, had the best holiday EVER!!!!
Yep met the gal from DIA at airport,, nice looker but several kilo's more than advertised. I bit the bullet and stayed with her,,, Sofitel on manilla harbout was very nice but no way would I pay full price for it.She was intelligent and extremely good company,, also a reasonably good bed companion,,, but at day 3 I needed to tell the truth,,,,,ahhhhhhh marg I like you a lot but feel more sister type feelings>>>>>>> I expected a bad rwection but she was excellent about thwe situation merely asking if I could remain her friend and spare that evening to meet her family. How could I not agree, after all she had been very good to me. A quick hotel shift saw us in makati and having dinner with her Mother,, sisters and brother-in-laws,,, a good night, nice food followed by several jugs of beer shared by all at a beer bar in Makati.Nice friendly family and a good evening but stopped early (10:00pm) as they where all working the next day.
Me having cleared the 'feelings" siyuation and having had a nice dinner with marg's family ( saving FACE all round) decided we should grab a Taxi to LA Cafe in Ermita,,, yep the only famous free-lancer bar I know in manilla.I had 10 years ago had some miserable times at this place but shuit, that was 10 years ago.
upstairs, struggling past the down-stairs gals and 100 peso each and we are in a relatively calm although LOUD area with live band and talent on tap.
Then IT happened,, or rather she appeared,,,,,,my heart AND my dick took a leap,,,, 156cm slim leithe but with a shape to want to bite. imagine marilyn munroe when young,, keep the proportiond but get her down to 5m foot 2 and 47 kilo,,, yep,, sounds almost impossible but here she was less than 10 metres away from me.I'm sitting at a table with marg ( the gal I met in Dia) but having also explained to her that there is no chance of us being together other than as frriends,,,,,,,,,what to do ???
Sudden brain explosion and I call the waitress and ask her to "send" a drink to miss Monroe,,, marge hears all I say,,, no need to hide this but also helps her keep "face',,,, Miss Monroe accepts the drink and smiles toward my table,,, but I see questions in her eyes,,,,why is he buying me a drink and sitting with a lady???? I've taken a bet on human nature here,, I presume she will not be able to consume the drink without coming to the table and thanking. Well,,,dear oh dear,,, that is exactly what happens.

So I guess this is the place to post this. I just came back from 6 days in Manila, mostly business so I was in the Makati area. The bars on Burgos were very empty and the girls are desparate to make money. The bar owners seemed to have learned from the Thai bar owners. When business is slow, raise prices. I visited several bars and there were variations but basically a drink for me and two lady drinks during happy hour ran about 600P or $12 and after happy hour 800P or $16 for round numbers. Not cheap at all. Barfines during happy hour that were quoted to me were 1700-1800P during happy hour and 3500 during regular hours (after 7). In most bars if you buy the girl 10 drinks you don't pay barfine but you already spent the money. On top of that the girls want about 3000P for their time outside. In the end, a very simple and short evening can easily run over $100. The girls were trying very hard to get barfined and generally I found them working in pairs, which seemed different than in the past.
I have liked Manila in the past as the girls are hot and they speak good english. Right now the good english is a negative because all they talk about is how little they are making and how they need money. Several told me how much they hate the work. Really brightens the mood.
I know there are cheap places to go in Manila but this is where I was. I did meet a couple of girls who really were great fun and I spent time with them and money on them. I think their approach of laughing and joking and at least acting like they enjoyed our time together probably earns more money than the sad, I'm so poor approach.

La Cafe,, zero bar-fine,, plenty of free-lancer selection,, can pay as little as 2,000,,, I choose 3 k ALL NIGHT.Thats like US$60
Drinks reasonable,, 3,000 peso for bottle Johnney walker black,,, yes usual name on bottle if not finished,, and YES it is there when you return.
Burger looked expensive at 300 peso until I saw IT,, WTF,, HUGE almost TWO meals
Be kind to the staff here,, even managers are only on 12 month contract at 10,000 peso a month!!!!!
Boulvarde mansion,, SUITE with views over Manila harbour 3,000 peso,, all up makes BKK look FUKEN expensive

Suites are VERY large,,, about double spa room in at TL.
Evenings on the balconey,,, looking over manila a big plus also.
I think if booking more than a week, price could be much less.
Let you know as I'll be back in Feb.
