Seasoned Forum Vets. - I need your urgent help!
Following is a real live email from a potential couple of scammers from AC. (The only change I have made is to put an "x & y" for the names)...
From a Western perspective - they are pulling at my heart strings with this plea for help and I feel like a bit of a mongrel for not offering to send more cash... my heart is saying it is a real (medical) need they have - particularly how they have upped the anti by adding in the choice bits like:-
""...if u not belived me its ok...
i understand darl...
and I will not force u to belived me darl...
i understand if u cannot help x y...
and I cannot force u to belived me... ""
But the cynical side of me is saying - it sounds exactly like a scam....
To put this whole thing in context - basically the long and short of it is / we have exchanged some emails / spent some time on an instant messaging service / I have called them a couple of times on my cell / had a little look and chat w each other on Skype cam / I have sent them $100 / we have agreed (they have promised) to do a private show on Saturday...
Now all of this ??
Eg; I am not Engaged to them or anything...
The thing is if they look at me as a bit of a hero now - I am going to compromise myself by looking like a heel instead by repelling their pleas for cash for medical help. And yes I appreciate the cynical side of many will say: No mate - you are not a hero - you are a MARK/Target...
Eg: Re: being a heel - (to use a saying) - I don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water - but then I do not want to be (further) used either....
