When I gave up alcohol for awhile I switched to plain soda water with lemon. Other soda's I would drink too fast but if I was not thirsty I found that soda water with lemon went down slowly for me. And as I think back you are right. It didn't matter what bar, the soda water cost the same as an alcohol drink. The only exception was when I was drinking alcohol sometimes the soda water side was either free or very cheap. Anyway, the point is that if you feel you are not be treated the way you want to be treated move on. The venue is not right for you, you are not right for the venue. Find a place where you are happy. There are a few to choose from.

Somebody surmised that these guys were kicked out of Baccarat because some Japanese big spenders wanted the table.
I suggest that this is not the whole picture nor the whole story.
I've seen Japanese guys suck on one bottle of Singh for over an hour. In some bars one Son of Heaven will spread himself out over a whole banquette meant for four.
I've seen farangs and even American blacks drop thousands of baht while these Two-Week Yoshi's worked on a Coke or a bottle of water and waited for their love interest to show up.
They rarely tip.
It's the girls who end up getting a "financial rescue package" from their Japanese punter and then spreading it around the network that got Yoshi to wait for her to get back from her short time.
That's how they work.
Remember, these guys can't communicate well in Thai. When they DO speak Thai, it comes out heavily accented and sounding like Japanese.
They have to communicate with money.
It is THIS that has given birth to the greedy "helpful" "mamasan" and her cohorts of equally greedy grabby tip-begging, drink-begging waitresses.
It's accepted in Baccarat but when it was tried in Tilac both the patrons and the girls put an end to it.
These so-called mamasans simply hate punter who can speak Thai and will not do much for a working girl who doesn't need to tip them because she's scored her own barfine.
You don't really need help from anyone except the girl you barfine. And between your Thai and her motivation and the money that's on the table, you need not include these old hose bags who insinuate themselves anywhere they smell a few baht.

The post was dealing with a specific problem in a specific bar in Bangkok Tonight's Bar Forum. A lot of guys who cruise Cowboy also go online and lure Thai girls into what amounts to a sexual swindle.
This may or may not be what you do.
But like I said; this part of the forum is about specific bars and the experiences that individual punters have had in them.
As for your boast that you have chosen another path to the wet spot and your retort along with your implication that we are somewhat less cool than you?

I have never been told order more drinks in a bar before and accused of being cheap. Just order another beer.
What is hard about that concept. I have been to all the cowboy bars at least half dozen times. The ones that are SRO want you to drink/tip or leave. Dont cry little man.

I responded to your irrelevant, off-topic boast in this *Bars Forum* that you got your action off the Internet. You had decided to drop back and kick rather than comment on the issue at hand.
Now you have refocused on the original problem in this thread but you have chosen to "little man" the original poster.
You got called on your original "yo' looka me, dis's how I roll" tapped out and got back on-topic.
You're still using insults to push people around.
I understand this is typical bar behaviour for guys who couldn't score a ho' in a cave with a fist full of fifties.
But that's not you, is it. You're a player.
You respond to pushy wait staff just the way they want you to.
My point was different.
A lot of the Sons of Heaven do exactly what the complainant does.
They sit on a coke, or a bottle of water for hours and they are not asked to leave.
The poster was complaint about the fact that he was told to leave after doing the same thing. You called him "little man"
You came onto a Bar Forum to inform us that soi Cowboy was "so 2000-and-late" and that scored off the Internet.
(Maybe you should start a thread on that.)
You came into this discussion to start a fight, and, like I said, that's acceptable bar behaviour in some places. Thuggish but acceptable.
So I guess your aggressive nonsense is not so out of place after all in the bars you are currently going to.
I apologize for my original mischaracterization of your thuggish behaviour.
