Update re closing times on Soi Cowboy.
Was there last night in Long Gun. Left at about 1.30 and the music was still on, as it was in a few of the bars. However there were 3/4 police officers walking up the street and sticking their heads through the doors of the bars that were still playing. They didnt seem to be doing anything though other than looking.

every restaurant, bar, pub open after midnight is illegal. every entertainment venue (e.g. having a entertainment license) is illegal after 1 am.
then you need to get the "license" from the MIB.

Yes, it was, but this past weekend it was 01.00am on the dot, both Friday and Saturday.
So, these things are still changing day-to-day, week-by-week.

A smal update
Police closed the only Disco in Patpong open untill 02.00 at 01.30 last night my guess it that the clamp down untill the water was is over has began.
Suzy wong is open all songkran with showns and all.
In another happening at friday 24 girls were on the Go GO stage when they DJ annocued that the "men in brown" was comming for some testing of urin.
Opppps only 4 girls left on stage heheh what a sight.

josephine's (after hours place on rooftop, corner of suk soi 1) was not selling alcohol on friday and saturday.. manager said they had a tip-off that the cops would be raiding the place or something.
doesn't look good. he did say it would be back to business as usual soon.. we'll see.

My guess is that Josephines is quickly becoming a part of history.
They seem to attract a lot of police attention and the place is run into the ground.
I started to avoid the place after going there very frequent. Reason is that I, and with me others, suspect that some drinks are spicked. Do not ask me what it might be....
After going there I was absolutely sick and miserable for a day. Normaly I might have a hangover but can come by, this time a was looking like a ghost of myself. Similair experiences were had by others after going to Josephines. Only common factor was that we were drinking voBKa on the days this happened.
Sorry, could be a great place but have my doubt. Hope I am wrong with my above statement concerning the drinks but it happened too much with different people...

Sounds like the effects if bootleg booze (methanol, isopropyl alcohol or some other industrial alcohol), watered down to the same strength as voBKa. Nasty... can lead to blindness, death, or worse... a bad headache.
