No, they are not, but the wall mount is the "drop-in" type, just grab the tv and lift it up, it comes right off the mount.

I'm at The Dawin now, looks to me the TV is locked into place on the mount. Dunno, seems too much trouble to me to lift it off..
Got to say though the channels suk at this hotel. 80 channels, about 4 are english. No CNN, no BBC,no Discovery channel... but you do get everybodies favorite...Fox news..just what you want

Hi all,
FYI...this is the review I posted on Sawadee following a couple nights at Dawin early June.
" The Dawin Bangkok, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 04 (Nana)
Good location if you are into the night life, standard room on the small side but well laid out and quality fittings inc flat screen TV and large safe. Air con controls wall mounted instead of hand held remote which would be more convenient. Time will tell if this still newish hotel ages well. Small but clean pool area. Breakfast not included in my 1780 baht per night cost but reasonably priced food in restaurant. Borderline whether it's worth 1780 but it smells a helluva lot better than the other place I stayed down the road."

I stayed there when it opened and enjoyed it. That was less than 3 years ago. It couldn't have fallen apart yet, even in Thailand, could it ? It''s a nice hotel but the rooms were small. This time, I booked Pachara Suites around the corner for $60/nite. Give 'em a look. wj

its just a LONG walk down Soi 4, and I am lazy ?
if you are staying that far down the Soi you might look into a servised apartment, especially if you are staying 2-3 weeks or more

It's near the intersection of sois 4 and 6, about a 5 minute walk to Nana or a 3 minute walk to Lolitas. Stayed there many times, one time for a month. Nice rooms, small but very comfortable, TV has been upgraded, many english channels now. Staff efficient and cute. Free wifi in the rooom, fast too. Used to stay at the Dyn Grand around the corner but it's starting to get a bit worn. The Dawin is recommended.
