Wow. 14 pages of advice for a noob. Heart-warming. (I didn't read it all)

MS, you know that you will most likely lose your soul to LOS when you come here and dive head first into P4P, right?

And, a few years later, you'll be a cynical jaded old prick like the rest of us here.

But, if you insist, here's my advice: Go straight to Mango or Tulip massage. You'll get PSEs and GFEs. 0% chance of getting a starfish. Nana/SC/Patpong - big chance of getting a starfish. For raw dirty sex, oiles are the place to go. With the lady drinks, barfines and increasing costs of ST from the bargirls, it's actually cheaper to do oilies as well.

Last piece of advice: If she's young and gorgeous, she's probably shite in the sack. Go a bit older and a bit plainer looking. MILFs work harder as they don't rely on their looks like the young ones do. They'll rock your f***ing world.

Don't recall this being mentioned but you might want to consider getting some business card sized handouts made up, in the Thai language, to explain your hearing disability.

This might help ease your transition to a foreign situation.

Better off with Doc Love than the village idiot MS, even if you have to pay him, unless you plan on marrying the first girl that gives a bj.

Don't worry Thaiaficionado, it won't be the first one to give me a bj. Now, maybe if she provides a well thought out business plan with a written (in English) prospectus... I wouldn't mind being a small business owner. 8^)

Also, I have MANY bad health habits, but eating fried food is not one of them, so I won't be looking for fried food in a street stall. Daffy's comment about the ONLY PEELABLE fruit in an interesting one however, and I think I see the logic behind that. You can't even wash them off in your room, since the tap water is suspect, right? That is an unfortunate bump there, as I was planning on trying out those various fruits (and maybe even a vegetable or two) that you don't get here in the U.S. But at least that still allows the peelable. The squid comment, that is only for the street stalls, right?

Koolbreeze, so much of your comment brings smiles to my face, I should just blanket say thank you. But, I won't. That is great news about the health program started a few years ago, I will feel more confident (and a little less daring) about it from now on. But great advice about watching the locals interacting, before getting my own choices. And I am happy to hear ice cream is a good way into a gal's heart. Swenson, how I missed you!

I am too lazy to type EVERYONES name, but almost all of you recommended going to the shopping centers for their food courts (and MK), and when ALL of you agree, then I know it's just unquestionably a good idea, so I will test more than one of them out. I will be heading to one of them for sure because I will need to buy clothes immediately after arriving (and sleeping). Anyone have a specific mall to suggest for large men (3X shirts, 46 Pants) ? There are so many of them recommended via Fodor and Frommers as well as you guys, that being NOT a shopper means I can't possibly go to them all.

TVN, thanks for the advice about skipping beef. There was a mention about that at PA as well. I will probably tend to get the shrimp and chicken type meals, but will try a beef or two when it's not by itself (steak, brisket, burger, etc). Anyone have comments about Lamb?

Expat, not a bad idea at all... I will research what to say, and see if I can get it written out. I'll get back to this thread once I have what seems to be the right thing.

And I AM going to meet up with Dr.Love, so thanks Dirty Guru but I should have a wing man I think. 8^)

The last couple of days have been a bit of a cold feet type days with me. Concerned about a failure of a trip, with regards to GFE with the gals (getting simple ST won't be a problem, but GFE is the ultimate goal I am striving for). But, the plane ticket is already purchased, reservations made, etc., basically 1500 bucks gone already, so I will definitely at least go. I will keep all these advice in mind and of course see what Dr.Love advises in person, etc., and at the very least, I will get a LOT of good food. 8^)

Thanks folks. I do appreciate the 14 pages of advice.

The fruit comment is for the fruit street stalls, because if it's not a peelable fruit, it's been sitting there who knows how long, and you won't be able to wash it there.

Stuff you buy in the supermarket is fine, and washing it in the tap at your hotel (as long as it's not a crap place) should not be a problem. The places I stay at always have filtered water (or, at least potable) from the tap.

DrLove can probably help you in translating / composing the small business card, and point you to a copy place that can print you a couple of 100s for your trip -- shouldn't cost more than a couple of $ and the print shop can cut them and format them well for you.

Besides durian, make sure to try the mangosteen fruit, also available as juice. Nothing like it in the west. Durian chips are also worth a try, without the odor of the fruit. The 'big orange' is also good, looks like grapefruit. Also rambutan, hairy, bright-red outer skin.

The best place for you to start your cloths shopping trip is MBK, and it is very easy to get to. Go to the closest BTS (skytrain station), and buy a ticket at the machine you will see on the wall for the National Stadium station on the other BTS line. Don't worry this is very easy to do, you will not get lost.

Once you have your ticket bought go on the train in the direction taking you to the Siam station, 3-4 stops depending on where you get on at. Get off there, and walk to the other track right across from where you got out of the train car. You will see a sign, and arrow pointing to National Stadium station. It is the end of the line for that train so you will know when you are there. There is good signage so you will not get lost.

As you are coming to the station, it is only one stop, you will look out the window, and see the big MBK sign, when you leave the train, and go out the turnstile head on the walkway for the Tokeo department store. It is directly connected to MBK on the second floor if you go to the left through Tokeo.

MBK has some large size clothing stores, and on the 3rd floor to the back has a large section of stalls with large sizes.

To get back to your hotel you just reverse your route, but you will have to go up a floor at the Siam station to get going in the right direction on the Sukhumvit line.

Beef, and Lamb in Bangkok are good, especially the lamb, if you stick to only the stuff from New Zealand, and it is not hard to find restaurants with that kind.

In Bangkok they try to keep the water from the faucet to WHO standards, but you are not completely guarenteed the system is not down for cleaning. It is pretty safe now, but no one drinks it yet as being convinced it is safe. Bottled water is everywhere, and in any size you want to buy. Only drink bottled water, you can get it everywhere, and no one cheats by filling up used bottles anymore. Bottled water is safe for everything, and cheap. Your hotel should give you two free bottles a day.

Any fruit vendor will peel, and cut any fruit you want on the spot, you do not have to buy the packages they have on display. Quite a bit of the fruit is peel as you eat it though.

There is a big reason why lots of people decide to stay in Thailand, or do everything they can to come back here every chance they get, and it has mostly to do with the women. There are more women than men in Thailand, so expect to have all your expectations met.

There is no real way to put it into words as there is nothing in your experiences to campare it too. Just trust that you will find what you want if you believe you can do it. It is very real. Do not think you will have to settle for less than you expect, and you will get better than you think you deserve.

That is the truth here, and why so many choose to stay here. It's not because of the high tropical heat, and humidity, or the built in corruption of a third world country everywhere you turn. It is because of the women plain, and simple.

Are you going onto Thaifriendly.com daily?

Right on, Koolbreez. It's the women that's why I've been here for 7+ years.
