@visitingbkk I think that most of of the Sukhumvit tailors don't even bother to sell fabric fakes since their customers don't know names like Scabal, Zegna, Dormeuil, Vitale Barberis in the first place. English or Parisian tailors from the good districts (8th, Madeleine, etc.) don't sell fakes either in my opinion. I saw one very gross Zegna fake once at Ambassador's Tailor in Sukhumvit 21. However, the cheap BKK tailors simply sell chinese fabrics with italian sounding names (e.g. Mario Cipolini ...) to make their ignorant customers think they are buying italian quality. Latrell

Thought I would give this thread a bump. Am now in the market for suits, and after Rajawongse produced a more Euro fit than American (nothing wrong with the Euro fit- I suppose it is what custom tailoring is about) on shirts--I am reluctant to use them or for that matter Raja's for a suit for fear that it will be more form fitting than I'd like (and I'll just end up arguing with them over fit). So anyway-- anyone have any experience with Excelsior Tailors, July, A Song, Ah Song, or Arts (or any other shop that will produce a good medium priced suit, am not looking for super high end). And I guess I would prefer away from sukhumvit area, so probably not interested in Hermanns, Crown, etc. that also get some mention. Thanks.

... I am curious, Nikko... how do the two fits differ?

Perhaps, just my opinion of a general difference in fit- euro- more form fitting- american - more loose. I'm in decent shape so can wear the "tighter" shirt but just a personal preference for looser clothing. The shirts from Rajawongse do look like they were tailored specifically for me but I find myself not wearing them. Will probably just buy Brooks Brothers shirts going forward.

Has anyone had a linen suit made in LOS? Where? How much? Are you happy with it?

anyone know a place that does dress shirts to fit me ? It does NOT have to be around Sukhumvit, it can be in a Thai only area like Bo Bae etc I am no where near a standard off the rack size, Plus is there a better material to have shirts made from that will wick the sweat from my body to the outside layer so it will evaperate better ? I am a T shirt and shorts guy back in the USA so I do not really know what to buy in dress shirts, but I think its time to "grow up" and get some nice shirts. Any idea on the cost ? Thanks for your ideas BK

100% cotton all the way. I like Taj Mahal on Soi 4, conveniently located. There's other option as per other members' experiences.

... as that foul duck advises above, 100% cotton all the way... no exceptions... the heavier the fabric weight and denser the weave, the finer. ... I've lived in the lower tropical latitudes most of my life and suggest that your perspiration might be better attended with a very heavy, extra-heavy undershirt... sweat will not wick to an "outside layer"... a shirt has no outside layer... you will simply have a wet shirt, through and through, stuck to your skin... a fetching look. ... an undershirt will wick the perspiration from your skin and NOT allow it through to the shirt... 100% cotton shirts are breathable and will allow evaporation from beneath... might sound counter-intuitive to add on an extra layer to be cooler, but look at the evolution of desert attire by guys who really know about sweating. ... lots of brands from which to choose, but I buy extra heavy weight 100% cotton tee shirts from JC Penny's in the States... the brand is Stafford... the feel of the difference in fabric weight is easily discernable... more expensive, but they wear like iron and feel great. ... oh, yeah... I read on one of the cosmetic surgical web sites here that you can have your perspiration glands surgically removed, sort of... they yank them out by the roots with forceps, I understand... check it out.

Magnum, sweating is not just an annoying bodily function which, for cosmetic reasons, we can safely dispense with. It is essential for maintaining normal body temperature, and avoiding heatstroke.

... Valetta makes a good point there, BKKdreaming... could be a REAL problem if you are having the rodeo f*** of your life and you stroke out before you climax... (though, it shouldn't be a problem if your dick is perspiring as it should). ... perhaps better continued in another thread ("Ways I Want to Die").
