Latrell thanks for the find. Seems to be a gem among many pieces of coal. How is the sewing and tailoring of the items?

Does anyone know the tailor just down sukhumvit from sio4 headed away from NP toward nana BTS but on the same side of Suk? sorry for weak description.
He has a Picture of George Bush framed and apparently made Dudya a suit during the APEC conference years ago.

Here you go:

Hi Bros,

I was just wondering what on average I should be paying (THB) for a good quality business suit (UK style). I have been going to Narry's for the past 5 years or so, but seem to detect an underlying view (after reading several forum posts), that I may be getting ripped off.

Thanks if anyone can help.

@Romeland

When talking of prices for a business suit, remember that you need 3 meters of fabrics + Tailor work.

The fabrics can vary very strongly in price and quality:
- Top quality (Brands like E. Zegna, Scabal, etc.) : 6 000 THB / meter
- Medium quality (Brands like Vitale Barberis Canonico, etc.) : 2 500 THB / meter
- Low quality ("no-name" fabrics as offered by most of the Sukhumvit Tailors) : < 1 000 THB / meter

For the tailor work, a standard Tailor (such as "Bangkok Bazaar" in the central World mall) is outsourcing the work to a "sweatshop" of ~20 Indian workers, so that they can charge as low 3 kTHB for the complete suit (2kTHB jacket+ 1 kTHB trousers).
For "certified" tailors like "Narin couture", the tailor work will be charged much more (> 10 kTHB).

All in all, you should be able to get a medium-quality suit (for instance with Vitale Barberis italian fabrics) for 10-15 kTHB (i.e. around 200 GBP).

Thanks for the link, do they have any high end british fabric? You only quote Scabal, and on the website I've just seen Zegna, very very small selection for a tailor that would call himself decent. Besides can you trust them when they describe whatever fabric tey claim to sell?

Do they offer bespoke or only made to mesure (i e the faster way, mostly machine made suits they offer in most BKK tailors) ?

I don't mind made to measure and it already costs me 2000US$+ in Paris but would like to get some real fine bespoke suits (5000$ up in London and paris).

What about shirts ? I will have soon more than enough time to have some done in BKK and do need a bunch of them but my mates who show me theirs done in BKK tailors could as well use those shirts to clean their car.

Any links like the one below about two HK tailors where you can actually see the work done ? especialy that I'm looking for this kind of fitted 1 button suit?

Is Narin Tailor still going?
(Located around So1 just under the overpass stairs.
If so, I would definitely recommend.
His prices is higher end, but has superior range of fabrics and his workmanship is top notch.
Marin trained in Paris, and everything is done on site - pattern, cutting, etc vs being sent out to sweat shop.
He takes longer and requires at least 2 fittings.
From memory his suits where between 15 - 30K depending on the fabric.
If you are looking for quality and more bespoke service I would definitely head there.

Earlier in that thread Latrell advertised Narin as well, it seems to be still open.

Problem is Lower Sukkhumvit has more the feeling of a stuffed up public toilet than a high end shopping area, but I will check the place anyway.

Yet are there properly researched alternatives?
