In the 90's the place to go for fun in Bangkok was the Soapy Joints. I used to frequent Darling MP quite a bit and some others as well on Petchburi. However, they seem to be a dying breed now. More and more people are taking to the oil massage joints as an alternative.
I do feel that the girls at Soapies are much more ridgid in their service than places like MangoMassage or Snow White or Tulip where basically everything goes and the service level I personally feel at Mango is the best where threesomes can result in real fun with all services offerred.
Whilst I understand that the whole concept of Soapies to me was being pampered and then serviced with the ambience and large rooms and all. However, my recent experiences over the past few years has lead to be not visit a single soapy over the past few visits to BKK.
Do people have similar views to what I have experienced? would anyone like to suggest a soapy where the level of service can be like that of Mango or Tulip?? Your inputs please....

Yes, Soapy massage used to be a dream thing for me as well, some times ago. After that we experienced oily massage. Recently I tried Nuru massage, which is good of course.But I prefer oily than soapy....my personal liking.

Yes, funny how we start out, I too was a major soapy customer for the first few years, only on discovering Baron's and then the hype on Tulips (and now Mango) did I stray over and rarely look back.
I did however have the pleasure of a Nuru Nuru Hand Job in a Pretty Spa on Bangna during my 'lunch' break yesterday, the massage itself was done using oil, very mediocre, but pretty spa's are not for massage (or sex, so a tad confusing to most of us), anyway, the resultant HJ done using this Nuru Nuru gel was absolutely amazing, by far THE best HJ ever, the sensation of the gel was amazing, and no doubt the ladies hand skills added to the difference.
I'm somewhat of a lazy man, I thoroughly enjoy the pleasures of being satisfied without concern of having to provide satisfaction at some point, ie. Evolution of the market is certainly part of it.... bear in mind that until quite recently there was no real alternative to the soapies. The "naughtly oily" venues that are now so common did not exist. There were a few old style Thai establishments like 2000 Center, but the proliferation of sex-oriented oilys where anything goes is a fairly recent development. There was the odd kinky barber shop like Oscar, but the Baron-style shop (where oil + sex is the expectation) did not appear in the market until about 2004.

All said and done, is there any soapy out there now which can offer services similar to that of Tulip or Mango?? Would love to try one again but the past few experiences have kept me away and kept me going back to mango over and over again as I have mentioned....

My very first P4P experience in Bangkok (which previously had been limited to a few titillating visits to Patpong and groping a few of the dancers for the price of a ladydrink) was at Darlings. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven, my only regret having not ventured 'this far' on earlier visits! However, that was my first and only visit to Darlings as although I enjoyed a memorable session with the dark busty beauty, I was put off by the rather seedy environs and her pushy attitude for a tip and, of course, by the puckerfaced papasan.
I did manage a few more trips to fancier joints on Ratchada on subsequent visits, but in the end the anticipation of being confronted with mindboggling fishbowl choices seemed to be more offset by the rather rigid, often mechanical, routine that invariably followed and the great effort involved in achieving a halfway memorable experience.
Thankfully, Baron's raised its glistening, oily head at about this time and then there was no looking back to the indifferent soapy options. Here, satisfaction was always guaranteed, skill levels high, attitudes generally great, and the full session devoted to hedonistic rather than ritualistic pleasures.
I, like many others here, now alternate between oily choices, although occasionally feel tempted to 'taste' a soapy just to see what I may (or should) be missing. However, with hot deep fried chicken just around the corner, I don't think I'll make it to a distant gaudy palace with its warm beer and cold sandwiches anytime soon. And if I feel like a scrubdown in a bubble bath, I get a girl over to the comfort of my hotel room for as long as I want for the same (or lesser) price.

Could not agree with you more. I think of visiting a soapy once in awhile but then I remember the mediocre service on my last few visits and head for an oily.
I feel the same way about GoGo chicks. Why risk pissing that money away when you don't get a assurance of performance?

As long as there are farangs who need quick (I consider 90 minutes or two hours EXTREMELY quick), assembly-line service, knowing the girl going through the motions with them has been with (depending on the time of day and the "hotness"[as perceived by the masses] of the girl) 5-10 guys already that day, then yeah, the soapies will do a steady business. As you can see from the sarcasm (though very accurate representation of the truth, methinks), soapies are not my thing at all...but to each his own, I guess.
