Just as a follow-up -- it's now been since October when I had the root canal done, and I have encountered absolutely no discoloration of the treated tooth -- so, not really sure what shabby quality dentist those who claimed 'black tooth' got (or what horrid dental hygiene they practice), but my excellent experience with Dental Hospital Soi 49 continues, I guess 
Also, I opted not to have the crown done, but have retained the metal band around the tooth, and the top filling -- works out well, so far, albeit I do have it checked every 3-4 months.

just took a mate of mine to Phuket, was quoted 4,800 AUD in Aust for a crown, had the crown split 2 times previously, had the crown done properly, 3 fillings and a clean and scrape. total cost 1,000 AUD.

Eight years, every six months, Dental Clinic on Soi 49.
Highly recommended. Even my Thai business partner and family goes there now (from Pathum Thani)
Almost all my old fillings replaced, a few crowns.
Best was a molar extraction with a full dental dam(plastic around face, opening for mouth. Shots to deaden the nerves...a few minutes later:"Can you feel this?"
Yes I could, so one more shot.
A few minutes later: "Can you feel this?"
No.
"That's good, we are done."

2 gold crowns, for less than the co-pay when I had USA "dental insurance."
My first one (Pittsburgh) lasted 20+ years. If these last as long I am very happy (6 years and counting)

I am assuming everything can be done at Bum since they have a dentist on site. (Referring to the "Full Medical" thread also.)
I will need an x-ray on file and some routine dental work done.
Can all of this be done on paperwork in english?

yes.... al in english..... I have been to Bum many times. Just don't let them talk you into shit.
I used a dentist outside of Bum, she wanted to pull some teeth... nothing was wrong with them and I knew that.
The nurses at Bum are HOT.
I was first diagnosed with Gout by Bum.... the nures had to give me a shot on one of my ass cheeks. You know I worked a little hard on and turned over to show her.... no response from her, business as usual.

Day one in BKK, arrived this morning traffic was bad, it took an hour during rush hour for me to get to TL.
I need to get some dental work done while I am here.
The girl at the front desk at the Town Lodge has helped me call Dr. Sunil clinic (recommended by RTB).
They will come to pick you up at your hotel and they will be here in an hour to get me.
