I m just out of Asavanant clinic and wont be back...
I went the first yesterday for an emergency, some pain in a tooth...
They took good care of me, whitin 15mn of walking in I had a doctor taking care of me, 2 hours later the emergency treatment was done, first part of a root canal with temporary filling+cleaning+X ray, I paid 4800 and was told to come back today as they detected some more problems and quoted a total of 8500 to fix them + 9000 to finish the tooth they started to cure (root canal + crown)
Now today was another story, I walk in, get greeted by another doctor, she look at my paper and say "oh, this treatment plan is very rought, I ll examine you again and will do another more detailled one....(remember I had 3 X ray and was examined by 2 dentists the day before), she look at my teeth, dictate some stuff to her assistant and 2 mn later VOILA a nice treatment plan for a grand total of 107.500 baht
(+ medication+examination....)
My answer was "Phom kit nee pen rakha farang...Lakorn kap!" and to walk outside whitout adding a word, the face of the dentist just turned livid when I spoke Thai...
I ll go get the opinion of another dentist, in the meanwhile I m fairly sure they tried to scam me and dig in some tooth that have no problem whatsoever + sell me the most expensive gadgets they could think of....
TIT, they are Thai before to be doctors and will scam you if they can

It was just blunt truth, so of course a big shock to the doctor to see the farang not respecting "thai culture" and making her loose face in front of her assistant.

Yes, from a doctor to jeopardize the health of a patient in order to make money isnt really nice...
And to use scare tactics on a patient is not nice either "you dont come now its going to cost you more, you never know when it will blow up and another dentist cant finish the job I started"

Yesterday I went to visit DC1 clinic...they quoted me the following prices
Root canal treatment 12000 baht
Pin : 7000 to 10000 baht
Crown : 16000 to 19000 baht
VERY expensive!
I ended up at a small clinic on chaeng wathana (recomended by a Thai lady I know, she work for some government office and is almost 60), will get 3 tooth fixed for the price of one in DC1, and the dentist is a hottie
