2 - analysts are not part of that 'smart' breed. They get paid to sit in a cubicle, and spin yarns based on numbers, and (bad) historical observations, ignoring the mantra of the stock market ("past performance is no indicator of future performance").
1 - Then, don't.
there are three types of investments:
- the kind that pay dividends; Apple's not one of those.
- the kind you get in on early, and sell of later to take profit; Apple's that kind. I bought my first AAPL shares at $13, before several splits. I'm doing fine. I keep buying AAPL, mostly because I know where they are heading.
- the kind where you buy one share and hang it on your wall. I suggest that for you (or, our resident economics expert, as that's pretty much the best he can do).

Most are alive and just not posting to the BTF. Take Mel Gibson for example, he is going through a messy divorce from his young trophy wife..... errr.... wrong Mel Gibson huh.
Well that is OK cuz when I left Mel drinking at Queens Park last year he told me he was going up-country to sell his fish farm and returning to OZ for good...

Pretty good iphone app available here, http://www.myfonehome.com
Basically install it on any iphone and you can log into a website and get a GPS location on it, great if you buy the missus an iphone and just want to keep tabs. I recal $2.98 was the price.
It works well, but it must be 3GS or above to work as it requires multi-tasking to be able to send updates in the background without the user knowing.
Its not a live tracker though, it only updates when there's a significant change in GPS location.
It also tells you the accuracy of the location, ie within 20m, the worst i've had out in Samutprakarn was a 1,872m accuracy, which isnt great to pin point someone, but you get the rough idea where they are. I imagine its a lot more accurate in Bangkok as there are more signal towers.
It helped me rebuild trust in a bad patch, worth a shot.

Just activate 'Find My iPhone' on the phone in question - it works wether in the background or not, and only requires MobileMe to work ($65 a year, well worth it).
Tells you at any time where your iPhone is.

I like the remote wipe feature as well. Just in case your iphone is stolen, you can remotely delete all the information on your iPhone.

Yep, Apple has no effect - and I recall the 'wise experts' who all intoned how video calling is crap anyway, despite their Nokias having been able to make video calls for decades...
FaceTime is the reason given by 50% of new buyers of iPhone 4.

About seven percent of the US has made a video call on a cellphone, Pew Research found in a study posted today. Although still relatively new in the country, mobile video chat is now large enough to compare to the 23 percent of total Internet users that have used video. The demographics were more likely to include wealthier users making over $75,000 per year but also relatively younger audiences, below 50.
The study occurred between mid-August and mid-September and is likely to have been influenced by the iPhone 4. Apple has made FaceTime a core selling point of the smartphone, including most of its TV ads, and has stressed that it doesn't even require a dedicated app to work. Sprint has been the only other major contributor to mobile video chat in the modern era and supports it only on its WiMAX phones, the HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Epic 4G.
Video calling has existed outside the US almost since the debut of 3G, but it failed to catch on in significant fashion due to the devices and connection quality. Most calling had been limited to devices with very low-resolution (often 352x288) cameras and at poor frame rates. The rapid rise of Wi-Fi on phones, as well as the advent of faster 3G and 4G, has given devices enough bandwidth for desktop-level video calls.
The share of video chat may go up with the appearance of the new iPod touch and possible camera-equipped iPads from Apple. Android is getting its own lift as the new T-Mobile myTouch will have its own support for video conversations.
