No need with iPhone 2.0. Hold the HOME button depressed for a few seconds, and then quickly toggle to 'sleep' switch. The screen will flash white - you have the screen capture in your Camera Folder in the Photos section.

Zune's an also-ran, bringing that up is rather unfair. How's that Blackberry store going? Seriously, though - even T-Mobile figured out to attempt to set up an app store for their customers (which would have been a great idea...5 years ago), yet RIM seems to only be able to keep tossing out newer iPhone killers... that are mostly yawn-worthy. Good show, though. The point that Steve Jobs reiterated, and that no one else of his competitors seems to get, is that it's no longer about radios and phone features, but it's all about software.... of which his competitors have....none!

Remember 'expert' predictions of how the iPhone would be an abject failure in Japan? Looks like that didn't happen: http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2008/08/11/iphone-3g-rocks-japanese-smartphone-market/ Big in Japan According to the report “iPhone Affects KDDI’s Net Subscription Growth,” by Japanese tech business journal Tech-On, SoftBank Mobile, Apple’s exclusive provider of the iPhone 3G in Japan, led other providers in the country in new mobile phone subscriptions, grabbing up 215,400, more than half of the 391,500 new activations in Japan during the month of July. “We believe our large net growth was an iPhone effect,” SoftBank representatives said. Rivals service provider KDDI agreed, noting that new cancelations related to customers' porting their numbers to another provider surpassed new incoming transfers for the first time ever in July. It too credited the iPhone 3G launch with the unusual shift. "We are accepting the fact, considering that our handsets weren't attractive enough," KDDI's PR group said. and welcome back your reliable source material too!! i always use http://www.roughlydrafted. com too when I want to know about how iphones are doing in japan tell me is this a pro or con iphone article hhhhmm I wonder?!?!? hahahaha u outdid yourself this time daftduck - did u even read the half dozen lines of this reliable article?? all it says is that subscriptions to providers and switches have increased it doesnt actually say anywhere that apple is selling more iphones than they expected?!?! According to the report “iPhone Affects KDDI’s Net Subscription Growth,” by Japanese tech business journal Tech-On, SoftBank Mobile, Apple’s exclusive provider of the iPhone 3G in Japan, led other providers in the country in new mobile phone subscriptions, grabbing up 215,400, more than half of the 391,500 new activations in Japan during the month of July. “We believe our large net growth was an iPhone effect,” SoftBank representatives said so basically last month Softbank had more subscriptions than other networks in japan in july - but not actually directly correlated to iphone sales so basically for the WHOLE of japan for JULY, they had 215,000 new subscribers, and not all of them were for iphones by my maths that means that the WHOLE of japan for JULY sold LESS than 215,000 iphones?? wow thats a success right daffy? i bet you are working out 215,000 x $199 right? no thats not your share portfolio either

Best Buy to sell iPhone in the U.S. ATLANTA (Reuters) - Best Buy Co Inc (BBY.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) will be the first national retailer to sell Apple Inc's (AAPL.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) iPhone in the United States in a partnership that could help drive sales of a device expected to be one of the hottest gadgets this holiday season. Best Buy, the leading U.S. electronics chain, will announce on Wednesday that it will sell Apple's newly-launched 3G iPhone, which lets users connect to the Web at high speeds, at its 970 U.S. stores beginning on September 7.
Wonder how they will make sure those folks at latched on to AT&T as the carrier? Also the artical indicates folks still have to wait 7-10 days to get an iphone at some stores currently (expected to be able to have same day sales in a week or so). Sure hope they get their shit together, cause if one still has to wait come x-mas time why even bother adding retail outlet options? (granted still lots of time before x-mas).

USA Today is insinuating that the exclusivity agreements will be amended at that time. This makes sense as the WSJ reported a few weeks ago that in trade for subsidizing the iPhone ATT no longer has to share revenue with APPL. I would expect that the price at BestBuy will be somewhat higher than the subsidized price from ATT (with contract). I guess that ATT realizes it is better to put your costs upfront whilst APPL is realizing that the best way to sell phones is to make them available to everyone...
