Exactly. Totally tanked in Seoul, too. Paltry half a million units in five months. Makes you wonder why the powers that be here bothered to stall it those first couple of years....

In my opinion, seeing as how the new iPhone is only a couple of weeks away from being revealed, and it will sport significant new features and enhancements, you would be better off waiting for it.
In case you do not, the latest OS, iPhone 4.0, will be able to be installed on iPhone 3GS (but none prior - with full functionality) once it's released after June 7th.
In my opinion, the 'best' provider depends on where you are going to be -- if in BKK, TRUE has the best plans, currently, and very good 3G coverage; AIS is okay, but has metered 3G coverage. Not worth it.

Thanks a lot Daffy. And since you are an expert of all the things MAC, what price do you think they will launch the new Iphone 4G at?
The 3GS is now around $750 (~25,000) maybe it will decrease when the 4G will be out? I don't see Apple pricing it too high... right?

Apple nearly always prices their product at the same levels, but adds incremental features with subsequent generations - so you can expect to pay $750, but you will most likely receive double the memory, better camera, faster speed (MUCH faster speed), etc....

Talked to some people today and they said better not to wait for the new version as it will not reach Thailand before next year!! and they advised against buying the first release as it will be full of flaws, better to wait for the second (and much improved) release which they say would be Feb/MArch 2011 in Thailand.
Confusing all of this.... I think I'll stick with my BB, even if it does not sync well with my MAC
