Obviously Apple has had trouble finding the right balance between properly field testing its mobile phone and keeping it secret. The company is paying the price now.
As for the fix, whether it's giving out free bumpers, releasing an iOS upgrade or something else, I am all for Apple taking its time, properly testing the possible solutions, and finally making the right choice. The harm has been done already, Apple should not compound it.

Which is what Apple is doing - instead of kneejerk reacting,
Apple has just bought themselves several weeks to finetune a solution, whatever it may end up being - software, or a bad batch assembled from China, or whatever it may be.

I have it, but I'm not in Thailand.
I would use the TRUEmove prepaid SIM, cut down to microSIM size, and with the unlimited internet plan = 600 THB.
