Samsung denies raising prices on Apple.
South Korean newspaper Chosun.com on Monday reported that Samsung would raise the price of its A-series processors on Apple by 20 percent, but a new report attempts to debunk that claim.
An unnamed Samsung Electronics official allegedly denied to Seoul-based newspaper The Hankyoreh (via TheStreet) that prices would increase, and he further explained prices are “set at the beginning of the year and aren’t changed easily.”
Apple and Samsung have a relationship that is extremely contentious as of late, especially since Apple victoriously sued Samsung in August, but CEO Tim Cook told investors during a Q4 2012 earnings call that Apple continues to be a “customer of Samsung and continue[s] to have a commercial relationship.”

Chinese Ifans buy two million Iphone 5s in opening weekend
GADGET DESIGNER Apple announced today that it sold over two million Iphone 5 units in China in its first weekend of sales, despite expectations that it wouldn't do so well.
Apple announced that Chinese buyers quickly snatched up two million Iphone 5 smartphones in just three days, making it the country's best selling Iphone rollout ever.
According to reports, sales in Apple's own-brand stores were pretty slow, but customers ran to sign up at China Unicom and China Telecom to buy the latest Idevice. China Unicom reportedly had 300,000 preorders for the device, 100,000 more than it had for the Iphone 4S.
"Customer response to Iphone 5 in China has been incredible, setting a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China," said Apple CEO Tim Cook. "China is a very important market for us and customers there cannot wait to get their hands on Apple products."
Despite these record sales, Apple's share price continued to fall. After the Iphone 5's debut in China, Apple's shares fell 3.8 percent on Friday to $509.79, and Citi Research downgraded Apple's stock on Sunday from "buy" to "neutral".
While we doubt that Apple is struggling to shift smartphones in the US, this drop in its share price coincides with Walmart's surprise Apple Iphone 5 price drop. The US big box retailer has lowered the price of Apple's latest smartphone from $199 to $127, and has reduced the price of the Iphone 4S to just $47. µ

This about matches with my observations as well - if anything, the release of Google Maps has sped up the further adoption of iOS 6 by those who had been holding out because of the Maps issue.
Apple wins. Users win.

The data from MoPub, which supports 12,000 apps and monitors one billion ad impressions every day, does conflict with another report from mobile ad network Chitika, which saw just a 0.2% increase in iOS 6 users within the first 36 hours of Google Maps becoming available. However, MoPub seems to include a wider set of data than Chitika and which was taken over a longer period of time.
Furthermore, a lot of users might have been waiting until the weekend to update to iOS 6, since MoPub’s inclusion of weekend data seems to have contributed significantly to the increase in adoption, which makes sense, due to users having more free time over the weekend to conduct a major update on their smartphone.
This is a big win for both Google and Apple, as it shows that a lot of iPhone users downloaded Google Maps, and tons more users updated to iOS 6 at the same time, which Apple naturally wants in the long run, since they want as many users as possible on its latest operating system. With Google’s mapping solution now taking some of the pressure off, it seems a lot of iOS users are upgrading to iOS 6 with little regrets.
