I have always liked Soi 33 for an early, happy-hour bar crawl. I love seeing the girls all dressed up, and the relaxed scene (although in the last couple years it has almost been too quiet in some bars, with myself often being the only customer).
I have learned, however, to avoid some of them. The one on the left as you enter. A couple of others I can't remember the names of, just their location. But Dali, Office, Wall Street, the three around Lookie Lookie, and Monet are all worth a visit. And some of the others too, depending on who is sitting outside. There is one opposite Monet that has also been good. I try not to stay too late as the drink prices go up, but it has happened. Let's just say something was holding onto me.
One of the things I like about Soi 33 is this where you find a lot of the new girls who are making their first entry on the p4p scene. There is a charming innocence about them that is like a breath of fresh air. But this also sometimes means they do not speak any English, which is fine with me as I like trying to speak Thai. And sometimes they are too shy for me to make much head way in terms of making out. But that challenge is of course part of the fun. And making out with a girl all dressed up is somehow a nice fantasy change to the normal scene, even if they aren't much different than the girls on SC, truth be told. But there are some gems to be found.
I don't tend to barfine too often because the fines are too high and the promise of rewards is uncertain, especially as it tends to be harder to test the waters. But over the years it has happened at least a half-dozen times, and they have been some of the most memorable TGs. Two of them were out of Monet -- one was a "tam na" girl who had been in the game less than two weeks and was drop dead cute and sexy; one of the sweetest GFE I have had. Barfined her twice, never talked about money, and it was worth every baht (2,000 LT).
During happy hour one evening, I was lured into Wall Street by a very light-skinned beauty with prominent breasts who had only been there a week or so. After making out a little, she said she was bored with being in the bar and wanted to go to a karaoke place, did I want to go? I thought this is where she would start pushing me to bar fine her, but instead she told me wait at the 7-11 at the end of the street for 15 mins and she would come meet me. And did I mind if her friend came along? Since it was free, who was I to set conditions.
I don't know how they were able to leave during happy hour, but sure enough, the two of them showed up about 15 minutes later (nicely dressed) and we spent a great evening at an out of the way Thai karaoke place drinking and singing (for very little money), and then on to a tiny Thai night club where I was the only falang in the house. (She had me dancing with some of the Thai men in the club, which was an interesting little bit of culture shift that I went along with sportingly.)
Around 1am or so we leave her friend behind at the club/bar and go back to her place (she had just moved in and wanted to show me her new digs). The sex was great and drawn out (although I was disappointed to discover her breasts were augmented) and the stories she told me afterwards about her past falang boyfriends blew my mind in terms of their candor. The only mention of money was at some point in the morning during showering she said, you leave me some money, yes? I left her 2,000 and that was that. The only odd thing about the experience was afterwards, about a year later, when I went by Wall Street, she didn't remember me... so much for the TG's infallible memory. But to be fair, I didn't stay to try to refresh her recollection, but moved on.
Will I go back to Soi 33 on my next trip? Absolutely, it is a must, at least once or twice a trip. A great place to have the first couple of drinks of the evening.

Yes, Napoleon is the name of the place. Thanks. And you are right, she probably wasn't on the payroll. I forget that some of the girls prefer it that way. Still, I appreciated that she didn't try to hit me up for a barfine when she didn't need to.

Slight sire-track,, but inetrestingly Monet was the first ever bar I enetred in Thailand,, was looking for somewhere else had a map but Taxi driver couldn't find it,,, saw the girls nice dressed in Pink and Taxi driver understood STOP. The beginning of the addiction,, and entry to a world that held such pleasures until the thin veil was slowly removed by experience.

Indeed, Quim. Some of these girls know that if she likes to follow a certain path (Go out drinking on a guy's expense or the possibility of a paid overnight) it's not recommended to request the guy to fork over the barfine (upto 1500 baht) first.
If she plays it save (and the opportunity is there for the girl), she doesn't try to get the barfine first and see her plans go to waste.
Especially if it's a little later in the evening, the girls not on as payroll will be able to slip away going 'back home' or feeling 'sick'.

At one time Monet used to have the sweetest girls, then I moved on to the Office.
The Office girls can certainly hold their booze, but in recent years they have become a little long in the tooth. Yes, I know its a bunch of old men who watch the games there, but we do need some pretty fresh pooying once in a while.
Two or three years ago I switched to picking up Dali ladies, but then outstayed my welcome as I took out too many different ones. The fearsome mamasan didnt mind, but I would encounter dirty looks from those I passed over.
These days one tends to inhabit a couple of G clubs or SC, and on the very rare occassion Nana RB 1 or 4.
