Recent studies indicate that beer is not the cause of the beer belly. A combination of genes and calories is the cause. Any suggestion on how to reduce the ugly thing? Having fat around your organs and in your liver is not a good thing. One area I have been studying is about alkaline foods ands how most of us have way too much acid in our systems and I am wondering if a more alkaline diet would help????????? In Pattaya I saw this one chap that was in his 50's and had a nice flat stomach but was chugging the beer?? What is the secret?????????

edit in: Also, stay off *white* rice. According to my doctor, it's not really that good. Try to eat *brown* rice instead.

well ive got rid of my belly.i used to drink 2 litres of coke a day,eat pizza at work,and other fattening foods.
first you'll need the desire to lose it (mine was to be fit for thailand) its got to be the most important thing in your life to do.just sacifice 3-6 months of your life for it.
the way to lose a gut is to do jogging,every day,50 minute runs at a gentle pace,twice a day!and stick to a low calorie diet.i normally ate cereal twice a day.lots of yoghurts,pears,and a hot meal without potatoes.just mean and veg.
just stick to it.weigh yourself only once a week.do light high repetition weights and 100 crunches a day.
the first week is hard but soon it would be ok.
gentle running at a long distance is the main thing.good luck I hope this helps

i used ephedrine to help me run and to control my appetite.there are other pills to help like xedra-cut and sida cordifila.

Something that worked (at least for me in the past) :

1) go as often as you can in Pattaya (or Bangkok)
2) f_ck, f_ck, f_ck and f_ck (at least four times by day)
3) eat less, not too much farang food, more thai food or more vegetables
4) drink less beer and more water

But, don't get married!
(since I am, well... cannot follow my own menu too much!!!!)

Might want to try the South Beach Diet. I went on it and lost a lot of belly fat, but I wasn't fat per se. I know quite a few people who went on it and have had success. I know you have to give up alcohol for the first two weeks, but don't remember the limitations on alcohol after that as it never really pertained to me. I don't drink much. I have read many reports saying that belly fat is 90% diet. Cardio will not really do it for you as the burn only goes for maybe an hour or two at most. Weight lifting has a longer burn time. But for belly fat, it's all about the food. The South Beach Diet is supposedly one of the healthiest diets around.
