Thai Typing

Once you've mastered reading and writing Thai alphabets, you may want to venture into typing in Thai. If you want to type quickly, then you will want to touch type in Thai, and this will require you to familiarize yourself with the Thai keyboard layout.

Generally, there are two keyboard layouts, the Kedmanee, and the Pattachote. The choice of keyboard layout is up to you. You can learn the layout in an hour or two using the tactile-visual association method.

Once you're mastered the keyboard layout, you may want to practice by typing a few phrases. As in English, we use the pangram "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". In Thai, the pangram is slightly longer, as there are more characters along with the tone markers.
